I would've used a separate power mosfet to drive the 10 other mosfets. As it stands, you're triggering 10 mosfets with an optocoupler that has a maximum collector current of 50mA. How long do you think this optocoupler would last? The Chinese do it because they're cheapskate scumbags. I'd want to charge the gate capacitors of the 10 mosfets, as fast as possible, so the mosfets don't spend too much time in their linear region. Each mosfet seems to have a 12nF gate capacitance. Failing that, my second idea would've been to drive a push-pull amplifier by the optocoupler, as the mosfet driver, and get rid of the 22K pull-down gate resistors.

Please also write in the topics what can be done (Spot welder, etc) - it makes searching specific videos easier later on :ø)

1- Re-use still good screens by buying a LCD controller from ebay (usually from China) and turn it into a usable monitor or even a TV with a controller that also has a tv receiver. These will support VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP all or just some of those depending on controller, you just need to tell the seller which panel model you have. 2 - Recicle the batteries if still good with Lithium battery chargers and buck boost converters for the output and bang you got a power bank 3 - Remove the hard disks and buy a USB enclosure for them turning them into external USB HDD 4 - Recover the RAM for upgrading other laptops 5 - Recover touch pad by connecting a USB cable correctly to it and bang, external touchpad 6 - Recover add on cards such as the WiFi adapters which are usually modular and can be removed and added to other computers even desktops with a mini-pcie to pcie adapter (you need the correct adapter depending on interface, MiniPCIE, M.2, U.2 etc all have adapters to each other and to PCIe) 7 - If it still has a DVD burner you can, like with the HDD, make it external with a USB enclosure 8 - Go crazy desoldering chips and reusing them as needed or for repairs

Would really enjoy watching you make DIY test equipment. There are a lot of things that every repairman finds useful on his bench for troubleshooting. Esr meter, short circuit locators, curve tracers, etc... I always enjoy your videos!

Can an old laptop battery be use as a sort of power bank for some equipment that needs to be used outside? Like an heq5 used in astronomy? Iirc is 12v, don't remember the amps it uses.
