I really had to giggle on the question where the white board came out. All of the above!!! is pretty much my father's side :)

What is the DNA kit that can pinpoint your ancestry in most detail? For example, I am Latino and have taken 2 tests. Disappointingly, all they really tell me is that I'm part European/Iberian and part mesoamerican native, which I already knew. I had really hoped they would be more specific about what tribe and region of Portugal/Spain my ancestors came from.

Unfortunately, there is no DNA test that can pinpoint your ethnicity. Part of the reason is the small reference populations around the world (explained here kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZS9pXuripxrpJY) and part of it is the nature of genetic inheritance. The best way to understand your DNA results is to build your genetic family tree using DNA Matching kzbin.info/aero/PLcVx-GSCjcdmsw25mbI-wJin_9_9QQUzI. To make sense of the matches, you'll also need to know how to do genealogy research kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKmVhZmcYrdgr6s

I have Ehlers-danlos syndrome also. I saw they mentioned someone from the stream that also has it. I have the hypermobility type and they still haven't identified the chromosomes involved for that particular subtype from 13-20 subtypes currently identified.

Wow. Genetic syndromes are definitely an interesting conversation. And, one reason for taking a DNA test to be sure.

If you're lucky conception maybe took place in a good sized rural town. A news story may have been written about the visit. 😆

Thanks for that. Sorry it still looks like text slang for something else. Yikes!

Do you think Genetics can try to prove Adam and Eve and the origins of humans?
@FamilyHistoryFanatics2 жыл бұрын
Not really. Mitchondrial Eve and Y-DNA Adam didn't live at the same time. Plus, there are historians that think Eve is likely a fictional character. I know I'm opening a can of worms on that. Stay tuned for my video on Feb 9th kzbin.info/www/bejne/qae3n4SBiMaCfaM that touches on Eve's descendants a bit. But the short answer is I don't believe they can.
