What's interesting about IPs is that unlike MAC addresses they change based on your location using what's called DHCP or (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and the IP becomes a Dynamic IP... Networking is very fun!

@@delete9328 i understand your point, but if you teach someone to respect what they are learning then they will be way less likely to do harm, you can do alot more damage making your own programs etc than by knowing tricks like these. Me for example growing up i didnt have access to a computer but school had one, i was around 9 at the time i didn't know of any programs or anything but i played around with the code of the school server webpages and changed a bunch of names to random dumb names, which affected the whole network of computers lol and i had to sit down with a couple of teachers to go through the 20+ names i changed. If coding wasn't fearedand taught more that never would have happened because then i would have known someone spent ages typing that up in the first place, and i had to experiment on a live system with important files, now people can run Virtual machines and such, booting an entirely different OS is easy to do from a usb to experiment on. Then teach people the ways they can use these positively and negatively(to an extent of course, you could teach people steal account information through hacking but you wouldn't give the routes on where to look for these things, case studies are amazing you can find stories where young hackers stole alot of money off some old lady and destroyed her life to the point she didn't t to leave the house. Sorry to rant but i think its worth thinking about, code is used in almost everything...

Your external IP address is assigned to you from your internet provider. If its set to DHCP, then it "may" change once the address lease expires, otherwise you'll just receive the same address. I understood it similarly. When you are logged in as admin and execute the get request it will execute an sql statement that sends of the Database to sleep for 10 seconds. Not sure for what this is good for except you have obtained the Admin-Login beforehand and make the system unusable by executing this get request every 11 seconds.

Some people can find your data using your IP, but it's very hard and required contacts to ISP or your ISP suppliers. Also don't just turn off and on immediately your devices. It might not work because ISPs reserve a IP to your machines for a while (maybe an hour?). Just turn it off for the night and you're done.

You could always run NMAP and see which ports they’re running for certain programs, but if they’re smart, they’re running port 443 on an unknown port and running port 80 on something random as well. Well-establishes port numbers should never be used for those things

What do you mean that people can do more with your IP Address?? People can't do shit with your IP Address except for DDosing you off sadly there is nothing else they can do if you have the following : 1 - Your Router/Modem Doesn't operate from the WAN side then you are OK (even on telnet and ssh ports). 2 - You don't have vulnerable services that could be of use to an attacker. Most people don't run servers on their PC due to a lot of reasons and the first one is on by default as most router/modem manufacturers make sure that ACL is denied to the router web server by default for WAN. TLDR; 1 - You can't do shit with an IP Address Except for DDosing it to go offline (Unless the owner is stupid aka very stupid). 2 - You can't protect yourself from DDoS Just ask your ISP to change your IP if it's static since some ISPs offer static IPs and won't change it for you upon modem restart.

​@Cryogenica If your router doesn't expose public-facing services, your router isn't a vulnerable surface. Regardless, it has an incredibly small attack service if no web interface is exposed. This video is unwarranted FUD and nothing else. You'll notice the link in the description is an affiliate link for some random vpn. The odds of attackers breaching your router are relatively slim if you keep things up to date and don't do stupid stuff with your router config. As for DDoS prevention, you can't really do that without a very large pipe. It doesn't matter if you drop the packets, you still recieve them, and if the pipe isn't large enough, no other packets will ge tthrough.

That’s not possible. Your phone has a private IP address and connects to the internet using the routers (WAN) IP adres. People can’t access your private IP adress unless theyre inside your own network. It would only be possible to be hacked if you dowloaded something malicious. You can’t hack through only IP.

getting booted off the internet will only really cause a small inconvenience tbh with IP address I’d say the least dangerous is booting off your router/modems internet. It’s location leak that is the most dangerous because with someone’s IP address it’s easier to track where they live which could cause stalking. DDOS/Stress attack is probably the 2nd most dangerous

I have to say, great video. However some information is incorrect. Firstly, rebooting a router does not give you a "new IP" (in this case he is referring to public IPs) Your IP address is issued by your isp and the majority of the time is location based. Secondly, The only new IP you'll get sometimes is a private IP that is local to your house if you have DHCP on. Other than that, balls of steal for giving away an IP challenging the internet.
