A thing I learned with brig is to always give glances at your teammates even with a sombra on you. Focusing TOO much on sombra can make and break a game as support. You got this!

I think Sombra is fun to play, but I only play her if they have a Widow who is just getting free kills because my team is ignoring her or they have a Doomfist or Ball that continually keeps diving me on Ashe. I don't really think she's a fair character to play in 5v5, especially with all the buffs they gave her. Maybe if this was 6v6 and you could rely on peel from a tank, but the majority of the time, you're just on your own.

Just a quick tip for any support struggling against sombras, they really hate kiriko. Suzu can save teammates from being picked off, and you can tp to other teammates to save yourself. I know kiri's kit is a bit op and stuff, but honestly if they're gonna play like that, they can deal with a kiriko.

This doesn't work if your team is also over extending or just too far away. I literally try everything in the book. Sometimes the Sombras are actually skilled and for whatever reason the entire rest of your team just wants to do a 4v4. Also for me the other support WAS Kiri. Literally just play another game at that point. I will always be more upset with my own team than the Sombra in that scenario.

This is funny because this just happened to me when I was playing. I was playing support and the opposing Sombra would spawn camp me and would target me out of the whole group. I switched from Mercy to Kiriko to Juno. And the whole time she kept on targeting me, she wouldn't even go for my other support. And I play on Switch, so I can't really type out that I need more help with the Sombra. I felt terrible but tbh my whole team was struggling lol

That's a sombra that discovered they could kill you without too much effort and so it doesn't take a lot of effort to do it repeatedly. I personally dont struggle too much with sombra, but im sorry this is just such a sh1tty thing to do to someone. Why is there a hero in the game whos core design is to ruin the game for others. This person isnt good enough yet to deal with a sombra, so it really rubs me thr wrong way that someone is able to just pick a perma invisible hero and make it so someone literally cant play the game. Thid persons team has been fight 4v5 for an entire point because of bad hero design and flawed competitive design. Get Sombra out of competitive play, period. There is absolutely nothing skillful or competitive about a perma invisible hero that can press a button and hack all your abilities. I generally have the "skill issue" mindset, but this is just so bad for the game that people are allowed to do this in a competitive gamemode.

Spawn camping on console vs pc has such a large difference. On console it’s way easier for people to get stuck in spawn, cause almost no one escorts. While on pc you can get them stuck in spawn for maybe a kill or two before they get escorted or you die.

Sombras have been becoming such a huge issue with spawn camping people, support or damage. It's not funny considering that it makes the game unfun except for the sombra player/main. I'm usually getting the "attack, run, cloak, and repeat" type of Sombras. It gets tiresome and frustrating really fast. Not to mention I've witnessed spawn camping happening and I couldn't do a dang thing because the person whom is targeted is taken out too quick.

I say if you won you won, if you lost the rest of the team just lost a 4v4 instead. A good sombra can spawn camp and stay in a team fight somewhat to keep it a 5v4 but that is much harder than just spawn camping

I haven't been spawn trapped in a hot minute. While Brig can be OK so long as you can prevent the initial hack or survive the virus, Kiri is the way to go IMO. Just head tap the Sombra and she more than likely will back TF off and if she doesn't you keep going after her head. You have the advantage 100%. You can suzu yourself if you get low. Eventually you'll be within range to TP out.

Ive been struggling with sombras lately and I'm okay at brig. This gives me some good tips :) i usually play kiriko but half the time im dead before I can use either of my abilities and occasionally the abilities dont work for whatever reason? I must get killed in between the animation and the effect happening somehow. I feel like brigs shield would take lot less time to think about for me than those abilities... maybe. Whenever Sombra is a strong character the games feel horrible to play still though.

For my console people the best thing you can do for yourself while learning to improve your gameplay is to increase your controller sensitivity. It is basically required after gold. I keep my horizontal sensitivity at 100 and crank my vertical sensitivity at 50 or below depending on the character. This makes it easier for me to lock in my aim at head height while still being able to rotate my character 360 as quickly as the controller allows. The time difference is a huge advantage when dealing with flankers, especially a Sombra.

this is really good advice. i’d also recommend learning linear and honing in your right stick inner deadzone so that you have much more control over your aim another semi related tip is to lower your left stick max dead zone to 30%, it essentially gives you the ability to AD strafe and helps a lot when taking engagements

The other day I had a Lucio kill me, and while i was spectating my Cas after i died i noticed the Lucio ignore the fight and run towards my spawn. I figured i was being spawn camped so I poked my head out the spawn doors after I respawned and sure enough, Lucio was there trying to kill me. I started spam pinging and thankfully, both my Cas and my Hanzo saw and came back to kill Lucio and taxy me back to the bot. Looove when teams help you when youre being spawn camped ❤

At this level you can tank with brig if you know what you are doing. Using corners to behave like Rein, her flail works around corners just like Reins hammer. Use whip shot to keep distance as you have the longest reach melee weapon in the game. I wouldn't say that you should choose to go against a Rein, or Mouga, but if its between letting them run loose and attempting to keep them contained, if you do it right you can win a lot of fights.

Definitely not something to do with a competent rein. But at the silver and gold level you can often get away with buying time this way and you can even win if you are smart with an ult. But the key is playing corners and knowing when to give and take ground.

The answer is very simple to this question. There are a couple of obvious solutions. 0. Wear headphones, and have them quite loud. This can literally win you games, you can hear the flankers audio cues better. This should be common knowledge, which is why it is number 0. Should not even need to be said. 1. Play something with good mobility, such as moira or lucio (lucio can speed boost out of spawn, and just boop the sombra away when she goes for hack and then amp himself away out of hack range). Assuming you have moira as an option, that would be a better choice than Lucio. As for some tips for moira vs sombra. Remember, sombra is more than likely going to approach from behind you but they may anticipate you will check the rear and decide to approach from a left ight flank position. If you keep your head on a swivel, and occasionally check your rear you are making it more difficult for her to get the drop on you. Wait to hear the hack sound, and just fade to cancel it then chuck a damage orb and use moira's suck. She can't hack you then and will have to translocate out or die. Also keep in mind that fade negates the virus effect as well, if she hits you with virus before you can fade and you then fade it will be harder for her to kill you. Just keep in mind that a good sombra will hack you first so you cannot fade, so listen closely for the hack sound. 2. If option 1 fails (assuming they have amazing accuracy and consistently land crit hits + never miss their virus), try the same trick but use healing orb on yourself and see if you can beat her that way instead. 3. Use comms to tell your team you are being spawn camped by a sombra and see if a dps will come back to peel for you and deal with her (you did this, and that was the right thing to do. Just throwing this out there for any other support having this issue and maybe forgot that part of the video). Your other dps, tank and support can just play a bit more passively while they wait for both of you to deal with the sombra. 4. If all of the above fails, the next best option is to wait in spawn to regroup with your team and then push out of spawn with them so you don't get cut off. When pushing with your team make sure you have at least 1 or 2 people behind you to cover your back. Ideally you want to be in the middle while pushing out of spawn in case your team have zero awareness and don't notice the flanking sombra. No sense to keep going out of spawn and getting farmed to try and get back to your team, you are just staggering yourself even more and feeding sombra's emp. If you are waiting in spawn and she is waiting at your spawn for you to come out, you are making the fight an even match for your team (4 v 4) and denying sombra her EMP which can be a game winning ultimate. 1 good support can quite easily keep 4 people up, if the other team has only 1 dps so I would argue your team is actually at an advantage if you are wasting sombras time and ult charge at spawn. Eventually she will give up spawn camping because she knows you aren't falling for it, and find other methods to charge EMP.

As someone who had to climb from bronze (I was platinum on console but switched to PC a few seasons ago and had to relearn the controls/learn to aim with a mouse), I quickly noticed that people don't peel for you in bronze/silver. I kinda took it as my role and that's what helped me increase my rank fastest. A support with bad game sense/technical skill is more useful than a dead support. If I have an Ana who can't hit her shots, well, I don't have her full kit at my disposal, but if I keep all the Sombras and Reapers off of her, then at least we have her grenade and nano. I would often go Kiriko for the mobility and healing output so if there was an enemy Sombra, I could suzu her hack/virus. But because she knows I have suzu, she'd often go for me first so that I couldn't help out my team. This would work in my favour because it keeps her off the other support. Plus, I used to be a Sombra main so I know the typical strategies. If I'm hanging a bit further back from my team, I make sure my back is to a wall and I have someone I can teleport to for emergencies. If I don't have a wall behind me, I occasionally flick to check my flank. I would see Sombra trying to sneak up on me and get some headshots on her. I always watch to see where she lands after using her translocator, and if I don't hit her before she gets invis again, I try to predict which direction she would run (eg. if there is a health pack nearby). If I play a character with less mobility like Ana, I occasionally shoot behind me when checking my flank (if I'm in a position where I think a Sombra would try to go for me). There was a match on Colosseo where I hadn't seen the Sombra in a while and I knew she'd have her ult soon if not already. I turned around to check my flank and my shot hit her while she was invis. Quickly slept her and my Rein helped finish her off. I also used to have a strategy where I would play Lifeweaver and would put a platform on a big health pack so Sombra couldn't hack it. She would end up hacking the platform instead, which helped on the second point in Rio since my team was using the big health pack there. I think if this person ever decides to try out Brig more, they should turn up her look sensitivity. She really benefits from quick 180s and even the slow reaction time aside, it looks like the sensitivity is too low. Leaving with Mauga was good but after seeing him go ahead without her, I would've already typed in chat to let my team know I'm being spawn camped. And just to be safe, I'd also check my surroundings while I make my way back (shield up, checking my back, turn back around and bash forward). If my other support was spawning with me, I stay with them to peel. As Mercy, I don't stay still. I move to keep Sombra out of hacking range (usually in the air unless they have hitscan), and if I'm with my DPS, they'll often get hit too if she tries to shoot me so it almost forces them to peel for me. This person was flying to get away but didn't use her super jump which could've helped with the D.Va while her boosters were on cooldown.

I'm gonna be honest. I joined the dark side. There was one game I just wanted to play a bit casual mercy and play with friends, when I got spawn camped by a very toxic mercy sombra duo. That enemy mercy started waiting for me at my spawn fighting me and whenever she was about to loose the 1v1, sombra would just finish me off. Sometimes it was the other way around. And they would insult me the entire team screaming to report me for throwing and laughing at how many times I died. And my team actually joined in, even though I was calling for help :') So... I picked up Sombra myself. Tried spawncamping. And oh boy did I learn a lot about how a spawncamping sombra can get smacked in the face. Never had issues getting spawncamped by a sombra ever since. And no, I don't one trick sombra now and I ain't permanently spawncamping everyone. I just wanted to see the other side myself, wondering if it's as funny as this duo made it out to be. Spoiler it's not, but I learned a lot.

Aaaaah yes, it's such a good advice for people to stay close to the team if they're getting bullied by Sombra. I have teammates instinctively press S when they're in trouble, and always so far I can't dm or bubble them (even if I try to stay close and not push to protect them). If every player understood how broken Brigg is (im talking specifically about her inspire), she would have been nerfed a looooong time ago. Instead we keep getting buffs for her over time, and believe it or not, she has the highest win rate among every single hero in the game despite so many players not knowing how to play her. My point is to learn just the basics of Brigg, and you will easily climb one to two ranks in no time. Brigg basics: literally just proc inspire any way you can (preferably with regular left click or flail) and shield bash out. Rinse and repeat the whole game, and your chances of winning are extremely high. Use a health pack whenever you are in situations you can't proc inspire mid fight. Side note: Inspire is an LOS heal over time. That means if you and a teammate are separated behind a wall or structure and you proc inspire, they will not get the heal. Just try to be in LOS of most of your team whenever you hit an enemy with the flail. ALSO, sticking with your second support, especially if they lack mobility, is the best way to keep healing up the whole game for your team. It's that simple.

I think people said it in the live comments, but a lot of the time Sombra killed the Brig before her shield was back online. If you can INTERRUPT the hack with the shield, perfect. If you get hacked, your shield's out of commission.

I found it hard to watch this video because I experienced the same thing with a Sombra who wouldn’t let me leave spawn the entire match, and it turned out she was a smurf targeting me. My other support chose Moira, so I was in the same situation as this person, and I can say it was terrible. In my case, I switched characters multiple times because Brigitte wasn’t working for me, and in the end, I tried playing Kiriko, but it was impossible and incredibly frustrating. Only my other support came to help me. My other DPS noticed, but it was quite late in the game, although at least they defended me when our tank wouldn’t stop talking trash about me, complaining and threatening to report me when I was the victim. In the end, we lost, but I reported the Sombra because her profile was very suspicious, and the next day I received a notification about the report, so I guess she was indeed a smurf or a cheater (not sure anymore). I also reported the tank for toxicity, and I think they got banned as well. They could have helped me but chose to be a jerk, insulting and harassing me in the chat. It was a terrible match, and I still remember it. Thank you for the video. I’ll definitely try to follow your advice too.

I see a lot of folks complaing about the sombra spawn camping, but Sombra is just doing her job. She is one of the few characters who can out pace other characters and take consistent 1v1s. If your team isn't adapting that's your team's fault, not the Sombra. The person we were spectating repeatedly died to the Sombra in the EXACT SAME WAY over 3 times. If you're not making an adjustment to that scenario, then the problem is not Sombra, its the player being spawn camped and the team for just abandoning one of their supports who clearly was not able to fend for themselves.

@1:00~ in general, the moment you hear the hack, hit shift, double jump, and ring the fuck out of there. At low ranks this is right 99/100 times @2:30 as brig, don't just swing swing swing.... instead, swing, BLOCK, BLOCK, BLOCK, bash, whip/swing. If your block is blocking damage, that means your first swing is healing you up. You want to kill time to get back to full health, so it is 100% vs 70%~ Provided she is a low level, such a as yourself, she won't have the aim to burst down your shield and you should be able to heal up. After your shield is just about to break, or you are full health, or inspire is up, use your shield to bash to proc inspire again and go for the swing kill /w whip as needed. I am no pro... as one tricks... high diamond mor low diamond brig high plat juno (still climbing though almost to diamond) Edit: @3:52 he calls the shield here for the brig :D

Brig can be great against Sombra... If you're good with Brig. The problem is, if you dont have lightning fast reactions to swing your shield to block the hack or if you're not good with swing/whipshot combo, you're not going to get value with Brig against a Sombra who doesn't have to really do anything but hit a few buttons to roll you. I also have to question if they listen to the horrible advice i've seen other T500 players give which is "just keep swinging all the time". I don't know who started this advice but it's absolutely horrible and especially if you're starting new on Brig, standing out in the open constantly swinging is going to get you killed so much. It felt like that's what they were doing a lot, just standing around. Keep your shield up if there's a Sombra. Less buttons to press if all you have to do is spin around. You can also use the third person perspective you have with your shield up to peek around corners without actually having to put yourself around said corner.

No wonder they were spawn camp, it's not a team issue to babysit someone who has the reaction time of a grandma. i was literally getting spawn camped by a sombra as well as a ball in comp, my team would not help me and watched as i died everytime. my dps literally stood together and watched me get harassed by them both and they ignored my team mates of course. i played juno then went to moira to try counter som but then i switched to brig and it did not work so i switched again to ana to sleep the ball. it was awful, i literally stayed in spawn most of the game and could not get out. my team mates knew i was getting spawn camped but they just did not help me, i died 19 times. the other support occasionally helped me but i was just getting hard targeted no matter what and i really don’t understand why my dps did nothing to help me. when i realised they wouldn’t help i got super upset, who wouldn’t? at the end of the game my dps were like “19 deaths on ana is crazy” it was super annoying i swear i tried my hardest.
