Reason the pebbles break down so much: They are extremely porous and have a crystalline structure inside. Unlike a thicker, denser cereal pebbles and krispies have very light, papery walls holding them together, the milk floods the porous surface and breaks down those thin walls, allowing the milk to penetrate deeper and deeper, combined with the cereal pieces being so small it means they become entirely saturated with the milk unlike a denser cereal such as cocoa puffs where you could bite into even a soggy piece and still find a partially solid core.

As a cereal connoisseur who spends a lot of time reading cereal blogs, the point of the oreo-o milk is to be the 'creme.' For true oreo flavour, I think you would need to make the cereal milk then add black cocoa for the cookie flavour.

The fruity pebbles probably had the strongest flavor because it had the highest surface area. So if you were to smash up the Oreo O’s and the Cookie Crisp a little, you might get more flavor out of them (through straining would probably be more difficult) 🙂
