I think you're correct. If you learn how to spell triads it helps with naming things. The process was FAC popped out at me, then the only note not from the triad is G, the ninth, if that helps anyone.
@davidozzo72447 ай бұрын
@@swissarmyknight4306 I'm much slower at that, so I went string for string; the first thing that popped out at me is the major third between F and A though, so I figured out that it was gonna be and F chord pretty quickly
@swissarmyknight43067 ай бұрын
@@davidozzo7244 Kinda the same thing, your recognized an interval instead of a triad, but if it was a D minor chord (DFA) it would trip you up. I memorized the roots and fifths of all the natural notes (rock and metal for 20 years), then memorized which thirds make those power chords major and minor. You can figure out the other triads from there. If you can pick out a root, third, and fifth, you're pretty sure that's the heart of the chord in 95% of music. You have to get up into crazy jazz chords and polychords for that to stop working.

@@davidozzo7244Same, took me like a minute of staring at the chord to figure it out. But for some reason the 9th was the easiest part to figure out for me.
