I'm an Everton fan- We needed to sell Rooney to stay afloat, not a bad deal when you consider if we never we wouldve went bust. Romelu Lukaku was sold for £85m, they then proceeded to sell him for £65m 2 seasons later, not having it. Man Utd paid £30m for Marouane Fellaini in 2014, Moyes got fleeced. Blomqvist and Saha were both on a free and Saha scored27 goals for us. We paid £600k for Gibson and sold him on 5 years later for a £2m profit. Can't defend the Schneiderlin deal. Tom Cleverley was also a free deal and then we recieved £10m from watford, not bad imo. We did not pay Rooney's full wage during his second spell, hence why he was sold the season after. Everton routinely sell players that want to leave for above their market value and buy players on the cheap and usually make profit. The only bad deal we made was the one for Morgan Schneiderlin. Swansea were the correct team for us in this video- We paid combined £65m for Ashley Williams and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

About some of the Dortmund players - Sahin was on his way to being one of the best midfield generals in football until his injuries became more dominant than his talents. Liverpool making the loan deal was meant to be a transition season for him and he was not particularly horrible there and Dortmund made a deal to take him back and he got injured a lot again when he went back but was one of club's best servants in ways other than being a headlining superstar. Kagawa was a joke in england but went back to Dortmund and played a decent amount and had glimpses of his better years so i cant agree with Dortmund putting down their pets. Ultimately he was to be a weak player so i'll qualify that Kagawa point but i will point out that Man Utd got a lot of players on the cheap in that window (Kagawa about 12 mil, Van Persie about 20 mil) Mkhitaryan was an established good midfielder in Ukraine and was brought in to replace Gotze. He was a slow starter there and when he got right he stuck it to many teams in the league hence why Jose wanted him and Man Utd being in forever transition is what stagnated his career, which he's slowly rebuilding in Italy. If a player like Lewandowski came to england and Shevchenko'd himself I'd still point out that lots of the former Dortmund players are proven quality like Aubameyang and Sokratis. Flops are more labelled by the media than actual club staff
