Considering how obnoxiously woke Deadpool 2 turned out, I always wondered which guy was in the "wrong" between Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller, and who chose to make Deadpool 2 so awful and filled with political messages and "inclusivity" lines. It has some better things than first like more warm color moments and better looking costumes, especially DP katanas. While at the same time formula is TOO boring for me, with constant quips that never let any serious moment to *have* even a chance to be interesting at all. But the fact that both movies exist is alone a win on its own because before that "we" only had 300 as Any sort of R rated cape movie and "even" Watchmen had dodgy PG release. Though at the same time both Deadpool compared to Logan shows that people in general will rather go to silly comedy full of quips, so really as much as it's a win it's also not so different. I am more of a fan of straight forward serious superhero genre with mostly unintentional funny moments. Like how comics are.

A small sampling of other things he did: cancel Firefly, reject a Ridley Scott/James Cameron Alien sequel in favour of Alien vs. Predator, greenlight and subsequently micromanage Dragonball Evolution, turn down Michael Bay's Transformers because he thought it couldn't be successful (quote, "no movie I make will have giant robots in it"), edit Die Hard 4 into a PG13, turn Galactus into a cloud, and everything you've ever heard euphemistically referred to as "production difficulties" related to FOX's X-Men series as a whole.

It was explained to me by Mark Millar on a forum years back that Fox’s Marvel properties couldn’t legally crossover, so Fox at most could probably just do fast photos, or have the characters make vague references to the other films. I asked this, because the Wolverine story arc “Enemy of the State” had him brainwashed by Hydra and butting heads with Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Elektra. I saw this as a pitch for a Wolverine film. His answer was that even though Fox had all these properties, they couldn’t show up in eachother’s movies for two big reasons. First being, the different producers involved, and their own money tied to the IPs. These movies would need to go above and beyond expected box office takes for everyone to get a satisfactory return. The second being that the licenses from Marvel wouldn’t allow that, as they’re different contracts which were made with different terms, and were as isolated from eachother as they were from Alien or Predator.

I would've liked to have seen this version of Deadpool 2. The sequel that we got will never be a favorite of mine, but I do still like it. Tim Miller’s ideas sound very wild though! I would've certainly checked that movie out!

Can you do a future video about Rocky? Stallone recently stated that in the first draft, Rocky throws the fight against Apollo in the hopes of just going back to his quiet life and be with Adrian

Don't gotta do a whole video for something that can be said in a short comment as yours
@EverettBurger7 ай бұрын
@@gabrielruiz219I disagree. Rocky came out in an interesting time. It won the Oscar even though it was up against movies like Network, All the President's Men, and Taxi Driver. These were three VERY heavy films. But, it seemed at the time, we needed a movie like Rocky within the cultural zeitgeist. We needed a movie about an underdog that did well, rather than another dour movie oozing cynicism. Having Rocky throw the fight would have altered the point of the movie and made it just as "deep" as the others that came out that year. We, and Hollywood, needed a film like Rocky at the time.

I actually think Reynolds doesn’t like appearing physically smaller or inferior to any of his male co stars. Brolin has said in interviews he surprisingly showed him up with the amount of cutting he did and Reynolds and the team didn’t expect him to at all. Jackman is looking a lot leaner as Wolverine too.
@anom67077 ай бұрын
@@zserbs2326 wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case, big stars like Reynolds are very particular about their image and how they appear. That’s one of the biggest reasons why vin diesel and Dwayne Johnson have that fight contract thing

Idk if Tim Miller would've made a better movie, but I certainly think it could've been better. For starters, why didn't they just have Negasonic as the dangerous kid instead of Firefist? Why didn't they develop Deadpool and Domino's relationship further since he doesn't have Vanessa anymore? Why didn't they reveal Vanessa as Copycat instead of killing her off? Why didn't they bring more X-Men at the end to fight Juggernaut? Why doesn't Cable talk about how his parents are literally Cyclops and Jean Grey? So much wasted potential, hope the next one won't be disappointing as well.

Deadpool 2 was brilliant, funny, emotional, thrilling. Writers and directors make choices, and the good ones leave out more than they keep in. Loved the choices they made. Never been 3 films like the Deadpool films. Bravo to their whole team for getting these R rated gems made.

It's truly frustrating to know that Miller actually wanted to do something with Vanessa in Deadpool 2, but instead she was killed before the opening credits. I was pissed when that happened. Then they brought her back and it seemed like a hilarious piss-take. Then came Deadpool & Wolverine. She's billed third! Hell yes! Let's see her use her powers! Nope. They've broken up. She's got less to do than when she was dead. For a movie series that started with such a surprisingly sweet love story, they sure were determined to have her gone as fast as possible. What a joke.

I don't think Deadpool 2 is as strong as the first but I also don't know whether this other version would have been as strong either. I really like the Fantastic Four concept art. For me it feels like giving them cinematic redemption like how the Deadpool film did to Wolverine Origins or Deadpool 2 did for Juggernaut. I'd love to see Tim Miller go the Gareth Edwards route and just do his own concept, like a 50 million dollar film or something. The dude knows how to use SFX efficiently.

Why wasn't DP2 as strong in your opinion? I've been seeing this said since 2018 (although I recall it being more split back then) but I was always curious as to why. I've been wanting to rewatch them to asses but until recently I preferred DP2 due to how more emotionally compelling it was.

I really liked Deadpool 2 (although I fucking hate that atrocious song that plays during the final battle), but I really want to see what Miller’s version would have been. I doubt it would have been better, but it had some interesting ideas that I think would have been really good if Fox didn’t cut them from the script, especially seeing a comic accurate Thing. We all know the Thing would get his ass kicked without help though. You don’t fuck around with the Juggernaut.
