When I was in my twenties living in LA - I went to dinner with a guy that kinda creeped me out but I convinced myself that he drove a BMW and owned a restaurant - so he would be the kind of guy my mom would approve of. While on the date, I caught him trying to search my purse, then I cut the date short, but he would not leave me alone - so I called security on him. That's the last memory I had of this very odd, and weird date. Ten years later - I saw this guy on a True Crime show. He had picked up a girl in the mall I worked in (century city mall) and took her in his car and killed her, buried her and they did not catch him until he tried to do it again to someone else. I realize now that God in Heaven gave me the intuition to know that something was VERY WRONG with this guy. My intuition kept saying - get away from him. Don't ever ignore those feelings ladies. Its there for a reason.

I have sympathy for 17 year old Bryan. Isolated and awkward, rejected at every turn. NO way am I taking away his responsibility (if he did this) - we each live with our decisions. Yup... You're going in the right direction - anger 😡 When one's sick mind tries n tries n tries... but constantly fails, (to have acceptance, love/sex) I think eventually frustration gives into anger - they're eff'n tired of failure. This anger festers into a plan. Then, one day...they snap! It's pay back time 🤯💥 Many of us have had sex, many times. It's not always spectacular, sometimes it is. It's amazing or fun or bonding, whatever - but most find it a positive experience. I've never understood the constant need for therapists to equate a knife stabbing to Freud or the sexual act. Sure...a knife is a long pointy thing...that can go in.... So what. That doesn't mean the person who stabs has sex on the mind. Their anger, IMO, has reached a boiling point, and they must kill to even some score, to end a life so that person can no longer enjoy sex, or life. I think they kill purely from all forms of anger, evil and settling emotional scores.

I just finished John Grisham's book "The Judge's List" that is a fictional story about a judge who is a serial killer. It was fascinating because I wasn't expecting what unfolded. Chances are there are a lot more of these people out wandering the world than we will ever be aware of. Scary stuff. I think it is very fortunate that this guy got caught earlier than later.

Trust your gut. Niceness isn't the indicator of a good person. Someone at this murder scene said they would help someone. They didn't help anyone. They took lives. There are still very good people in our world, but there are also creeps and people who do not have others best interest at heart.

My impression was that the person (who said he would help) was Ethan Chapin, Xana's boyfriend. Ethan was about 6'2" and appeared to be very physically strong, so that's why I thought he may have said that just before he was killed. Since Kohberger's capture I haven't been following as much, it's too upsetting on so many levels. Thank G-d he was caught, but the Kohberger family must be suffering almost as much as the families of the victims. Perhaps more.

We all know that the school officials and politicians believe bullying is a myth and do nothing about it. I have raised to boys and a generation apart. Later in my bios life did I learn he physically defended his friends that were bullied. In HS he was suspended for fighting and I was told it was a fight and nothing about standing up to a bully. My step son did the same. In elementary school he was suspended for fighting and his friends mother let me know why. I went into a meeting with the principal and other boys parents plus my wife and stepson. My wife spoke little English and wouldn't understand the meeting so I did the talking. After principle blamed my ss for the fight I asked about the bullying. It was blown off even though numerous students had many issues. I finally looked at principle then my sson and said " if you ever see bullying go ahead and beat the F out of him ". Took my wife and left meeting. I did talk to son about why I think he was a bully and even made him invite bully to his birthday party. They remained friends until after HS. I only learn about his helping of friends by watching a couple of videos of him ko kids. His nickname was ko joe. This was after hs. Fighting is wrong but defending friends isn't. Most of these lunatics have lots of being bullied in their history and were never defended by school officials but left on their own. This is not an excuse but is a reason

I wonder why his older sisters didn't try to help him learn to socialize and act more normal when approaching women. Going to a woman psychologist could be very helpful in getting better at approaching people in a positive way, being pleasant, and not taking rejection so hard. I believe he saw Maddie on Instagram and tried to contact her. She did not respond either because he was not in her circle of friends or didn't even see his message. He set his goals too high and went after one of the most beautiful young girls at Idaho State. WHY would she be interested in him? He didn't grow up there, didn't know anyone, and was not financially well off. Set goals that are possible to obtain instead of blaming his rejection on his dream girl. Totally stupid.

@@LisaHawkinsHotJava Lisa, some people are just evil, they do bad things and don’t feel guilty about it when they do it. They actually enjoy causing other people pain, killing or torturing others. I know this is difficult for most people to understand because we have a conscious. I know it’s human nature to try and understand why someone commits theses crimes, because we see their actions as so out of the norm, we want to rationalize it somehow. I’m sure he has killed before. I’m sure he tortured animals before. I’m sure others saw this behavior as strange an unusual, but hoped he would stop. In most cases like this, the signs that someone will commit more serious crimes are visible over their lives, but they are missed or overlooked. I don’t believe he just snapped and did it, he planned this for a long time. He probably fantasized about doing it before he even focused on these victims. I tell you this out of experience dealing with people such as this guy. To answer your question specifically, he got to a point where he was comfortable taking the risk to commit the crime. His need to act overwhelmed a persons nature not do it. I’m positive he enjoyed doing it, we can’t understand that at all! People generally just don’t snap one day and commit horrible crimes, they build up to doing them over time by committing other horrible acts until they rationalize the more serious crimes. As someone who has been to the Pullman-Moscow area, I can tell you that there aren’t a lot of restaurants with Vegan items on the menu. When he moved to town he might have googled for vegan food and found Mad Greek. He had a history of asking waitresses creepy questions abou t where they live and what time their shift gets over. I don’t think he “snapped” at all. I think this has been a slow burn that he has been thinking about for a long time. Lots of anger about why he doesn’t feel “alive” or connected to other people. Anger about why girls don’t like him. Some arrogance and over confidence in his ability to commit a crime. The thrill of doing something depraved. He probably saw Xana and Maddie at Mad Greek and followed them home. At some point Kaylee was on his radar too as she and Maddie were inseparable and the two of them stood out in a crowd. He started driving by their house at night, enjoying the thrill of deviance. Eventually worked up the nerve to do what he has been thinking about for a long time. Another question: I noticed his face is really gaunt. Sunken-in eye sockets etc compared to pics of him at a younger age. The Sandy Hook killer had a super gaunt face with sunken in eye sockets. You see them all the time in mugshots of violent offenders. Is there a drug ( illegal or prescription) that causes this? Or a neurological condition? Is there correlation with violent thoughts and intentions?

Ted Bundy's mom like most unwed girls in her generation was sent to give birth at an institution so other people would not see her pregnant and those institutions helped teach these girls how to be mothers. After having the baby she went back to live with her parents with her baby. Ted Bundy's mom raised him, remarried, had more children so he had siblings, lived with her in a house having his own bedroom and she was even there at his trials. She is on video discussing how much she loves him while he was being accused. He was never at an orphanage. Ever. She told him she loved him often. I've wondered the identical thing. There are occasions where there's seemingly nothing in the background that appears connected to later violent acts but usually there is something. Based on his writings this guy was very sick very early. It's likely that there's a lot we don't yet know. People have a public persona and a private one. We might not yet have heard about the private lives. Two bankruptcies, the Bundy interest and the slasher movie, standing alone, certainly don't sound much like a typical family.

I think it was more of a challenge. The idea to become the best criminal mastermind and also to go beyond just getting inside of a criminal head but instead embody the criminal. Most analysts seem to assume Kohberg set out to kill 3 or perhaps all 4 of the victims. What if he planned to slip in, kill his one target, and leave? Instead when he goes to the room of the target, he finds 2 girls there -- one of whom was just back for a visit and was sharing the room because she had sold her own furniture. One person he could likely kill without a struggle; two meant noise and tumult. On the way out he encounters those alerted by the tumult, Ethan and Xana, and kills them to eliminate witnesses and impediments to his escape. Had Maddie been the only victim, the police would have focused on her boyfriend, and if he had an alibi, on others who knew her. There would have been no major media hoohah, no State Police, no FBI. Kohberger's planning might have been much more "successful", with fewer forensic mistakes, and his motive much simpler, with one victim. Not saying that was the case -- just offering food for thought.

What I would like to hear discussed is what the times were like back in "the Golden age" of serial killers, when they first started to emerge as if like some kind of social contagion was sweeping through the world. I would like to hear about a comparison of what psychology suggests for the cause of it, then compared to how society is acting now and the similarities between those two eras in time. It seems to me that we have replicated that situation that made all of those serial killers back in the 60's and what I find really scary is that this time around society is even more screwed up at the moment then it was back then when it was making these serial killers. Now we have school shootings, a recession, a lack of nuclear family, a lack of resources, etc, and all of it is amplified by the internet. I think this loser is just one of many that we will sadly have to clean up after, thanks to the insanity of social media and the country as a while. It's not looking good. Even if Megan doesn't do a deep dive into this, I suggest that the rest of your viewers do a little research on what caused the Golden age of Serial Killers then come back and comment whether or not you think there should be a cause for concern. If there was any up tick in crime during that period, was because there was no camera surveillance at that time, and a upswing in technology and society change. I forget the name of the book but the library had an awful true story about an ax murderer who rode the trains in the 1800s. The authors tried to identify him. The police back then of course didn't have phones etc

Apparently a few years ago right before the pandemic hit, over in Japan a technology group were working on some new AI technology in their lab. Specifically building automated robot units. These robots were designed to self evolve and write their own script or gameplay. So apparently at some point the robots started to malfunction or not shut off when they were supposed to. They started to write their own survival data code in defense of being shutdown or something. As the engineers and lab workers tried to disable them or shut them down the robots started freaking out. According to the news article a group of 4 robots in the lab killed 29 people. Look it up it's apparently a true story! Seriously creepy terminator type stuff, this is the type of bizarre modern world we may one day live in!

Because Kohberger is a stupid inexperienced novice killer. He should have left his phone at home turned on. He should have stolen a car and used that for the murders. If he had done all that then he would not have been caught right away. Within a couple of weeks LEOs had his car, his driver's license, his cell phone, and everything needed to get an arrest warrant.

Why didn't Kohberger take a few years off from school? He could've addressed his problem through therapy or by hanging out with family or friends and focusing on finding a girlfriend. His friends and family could've helped him to meet someone. Sometimes support from others can make dating easier. If he was getting rejected why not ask other guys for help in that area. His friends and family could've hooked him up with someone who was his type that would've been interested in him. If his strategy with women wasn't working he should've asked other guys with girlfriends for help.
