@DerekDAngel18 күн бұрын
The Gilded Age ended in rioting. Lots and lots of rioting. Unions formed alongside the Populist Party and they became VERY aggressive with their approach towards The Panic of 1893. The Great Depression was America's "punishment" for fighting back against the uber-wealthy. From 1900-1920 the Gilded Age began transitioning into The Progressive Era, a period of significant reform aimed at addressing the inequalities and challenges of the preceding decades. That's why the uber-wealthy of The Gilded Age pulled ALL their shares from the stock market thus causing "The Stock Market Crash of 1929". When that happened, the entire economy collapsed. They sure showed us.
@primevaltimes17 күн бұрын
That’s not why the Great Depression happened at all. People pulled their shares as a panicked response to the already faltering economy.

@@primevaltimes you clearly didn't read the whole thing 😂😂
@primevaltimes17 күн бұрын
@@DerekDAngel I did actually. You stated or at least implied that The Great Depression was caused by the wealthy withdrawing from the stock market, which is not accurate. The causes are complicated and involved unregulated banking, agricultural shortfalls, lack of consumer confidence in multiple industries, attempts to reintroduce the gold standard, and Tariffs.
