Handwork is a blessing for a band mom. Kids always need to be there early.and they don't drive yet...solution...grab your bag and a good seat for the concert. Private lessons? Most likely a half hour now, not really enough time to run errands, but definitely enough time to get a bit of handwork done. And the list goes on and on! I don't mind waiting if I have something to do, but to just sit there....that's painful.

Becca just wanted to add this. I have almost all of the QS Rulers. The 8 1/2” X 24” is amazing. It’s fantastic for cutting yardage. I saw it first watching Tiffany. They definitely are amazing. Happy you were able to purchase some of them 👍❤️❤️

I bought the 6" x 12" - but will likely buy an 8" x 12". I don't typically use the 24" unless I have to cut right from the bolt. :)

I am also a fan of Quilter Select rulers! The best! And I have made Violet Craft’s Atomic Star quilt. I had no idea what paper piecing was when I bought the pattern and it was challenging for me. I watched the only tutorial I could find by “I See Stars Quilting”. She literally saved me and I watched it over and over to finally get it. I highly recommend starching your fabric as each and every piece is on the bias. To this day, that is by far my favorite quilt I’ve ever made! I wish I had a way of showing you a picture of my quilt.

Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. I am curious, what do you do for a living? Is your "day" job as creative as you are with your quilts, I love them all and that you can just go with it makes me happy. I'm working on blocks I don't like much, turning them into a scrappy mess. Too much of one color not enough of another. I have become a pro with a seam ripper. Have a wonderful sewing kinda day. I can't wait to watch some more of your videos, Keep up the great job Becca!

The non-slip surface on QS rulers is great!! My eyes have trouble using rulers with lots of markings, so I have a lot of special purpose rulers LOL. Missouri Star for cutting, Quilter's Haven for squaring, Quilt-in-a-Day for fussy cutting. Excited to hear more about QuiltCon during Friday's Livestream!

Looks like you had a blast at the Convention; truly inspiring and motivating for sure! Another cool thing about Creative Grides is the rulers align with the Creative Gride cutting mat lines and can improve accuracy; the rotary cutters are nice and hefty - although, your Martelli seems pretty amazing.

It did, indeed! I wanted just a little bit of negative space so the points on the stars didn't touch. Which, was particularly helpful in allowing the quilt a little bit of freedom if some of the points were just a hair off!

FYI...you will still need to buy the pattern for the butterfly quilt. I'm working on one right now. I did not buy the kit. Couldn't afford it. I'm using batiks from my stash similar to the kit colors.

There are too many tools in the quilting world to choose something that *DOESN'T* work for you! Being able to read the ruler definitely ranks higher than it not moving!
