I go to a ghetto middle school in the Midwest and a few girls have gotten expelled within the last 2 years. First girl is a big fat ginger girl with the biggest attitude and hung out with a “gang” and thought she was all that. She was expelled for fighting. Not from one fight from 7 fights. Every fight she lost and always lost a chunk of hair or had bad bruises. This was 6th grade. Second girl expelled for drugs and fighting. This was 7th grade. She was caught vaping and lots of bullying and fighting. Last girl was expelled for drug use and fighting too. This was a 8th grader when I was in 7th.

8:52 Seriously - that kind of behaviour takes a lot of bravery. I personally wouldn't have dared to turn in accidental contraband in school. That kid was really responsible (aside from the fact it forgot the shells in the first place) and I personally would have rewarded that behaviour. By expelling the kid, the school sends just one message: There is no amnesty, so zip up and keep to yourself. That's hardly the type of message kids should get.

I _almost_ got expelled for supposedly planing a second Columbine days after the first one happened in the 90s. I had no plans too do so nor even any weapons. I just had a somewhat deserved rep for being a pyro and someone who know me hit the proverbial panic button. Got dragged out by most of the sheriffs department in the middle of welding class. The school drew up paperwork to expel me ever before the cops finish searching my family's house. Obvious they found nothing and my father hired the best lawyer in our part of the state to go after the school board. Since they fond nothing and that the entire thing was a panic fueled rumor the school back tracked almost immediately, but I did get suspended for about a week while they sorted it all out. Ironically I gained a lot of friends after that. Plus it changed my mind about joining the military because it showed how stupid 'the system' could be.

The story about the shotgun shells is just another example of zero tolerance policies, not being worth horse Crap! They always punish the wrong people!
@marktheroux9465 Жыл бұрын
The concept of zero-tolerance policies has made my blood boil since I first became aware of them when I went to school in the 90s. I swear it's like a real-life satirical comedy when schools do nothing about actual bullying but suspend a kid for biting a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun.

After a heated confrontation between my father and my junior high principal. My dad was a man of 5 foot 2 inches tall. He had the much taller principal shaking in his boots and damned near messing his pants. I was 15 at the time and I had gotten in trouble at school that day. I was in the Principal's office he was threatening to suspend me. I don't even remember what I said. But the next thing I know is the principal slapping me hard across the face. I just looked him in the eyes pulling out my cigarettes. After lighting one up in his office. I turned around walked straight out of school off school property. Walked down the highway to where my dad worked in the next town. I told him everything that happened at school with the principal, what I'd done including walking out of school hours early and the reason I came to see him at work. He had a fit, but not at what I did that day. He was totally pissed off that the principal hit me. After my dad's job was over that day. He drove us back to my junior high school. Where he reamed the principal a new butt hole even trying get the principal to hit him because he was smaller than me. Once my dad was satisfied he got his point across to the principal. We went home and my dad hadn't bought up the matter again. I mean I was standing in the Principal's listening to what my dad told the principal. When I got to school the next day the principal stopped me in the hallway. Then in an angery tone of voice he said to me. I know you and what you want me to do. But I'm not going to suspend no matter what. He then left me there as he headed in the direction of his office. I stood there a minute or so thinking about what the principal just said. Thinking to myself that's okay I can do whatever and won't get kicked out of school. I really didn't care either way about it. Because I had already made up my mind to quit school as soon as I turned 16. I was only waiting for my 16th birthday. I was very happy to learn how much my dad loved me and how protective of me he was of me.

One kid in my high school was smart enough to hack the school computer database on the locker numbers and coronations. He was dumb enough to try to blackmail the school with this info using his own contact info. The next week, they rearranged all the locks and we had to learn new combinations. Kid got expelled.

So many of these are not even close to being worthy of expulsion. Some school board are just so crappy and lazy. When I was in school (90s and 2000s) you pretty much had to deliberately kill someone (and even then it would have had to of been of school grounds) or burn the school to the ground to actually be expelled. It wasn't anacharcy or anything, the student body was generally very well behaved, it just that the faculty was (generally) intelligent enough to know that there are so many options for discipline between doing literally nothing and what is the basically equivalent to execution for primary students.

honestly, I feel for the kid in the story 15 who got stabbed they were the victim of bullying for what seems like a significant amount timer. When if I cracked and tried to get back out there boy they were the ones who got in trouble happened to me in third grade was being bullied by girl with the same first name and last initial. Oh yeah oh yeah, I know this is my first year in a new school district which is hard enough but anyway by the fact um what is it going to make make it harder it's gonna bother me all year. Seybold me when I saw the counter and fire drills just shortly after September 11, 2001 happened and called me a joke constantly be freaking out at the alarms for fire drills and then just days after my nice birthday when I found out my Grammy my paternal grandmother passed away and had a complete mental breakdown because of it because oh think about a nine year old autistic person find out there's days after 9 May that they were the last four people to see the paternal grandmother alive the day after that birthday where they were something that perfect with them. Of course I would have a freak out, and then my parents told me I was going to help me cope, and once I got back, the boy kept going at me and saying that I deserve the fact that my grandmother died, especially deserved it, so that she died just after my ninth birthday, and I was just glad my grandmother had just died. I had enough and slow turn the nose and I am the one who got in trouble I didn't get permanently expelled. I had to see the nurse her in our district school that girl go away scot-free and don't even give me go on about what happened three years later in six grade.

Some girls in the 90's… long before I was even born decided to smoke some weed in the girl's bathroom. Well, it must've had something in it because it made them laugh uncontrollably. At one point two female teachers went to try and get the girls out of there. They could get a foot from the doorway without feeling woozy themselves and the school was evacuated and the police came with gas masks and arrested them and they were taken to the hospital to be checked out for possible injuries. The Custodian assisted the hazmat company with the cleaning and disposal wearing gas masks. The room was nearly hermetically sealed because of the dangerous chemicals in the residue. They were expelled and prosecuted. And triggered a massive crackdown in the town.

At my school, the girls always sprayed perfume way too much, and so everyone would just sit there coughing and sniffling awkwardly. When I was in third grade, a kid brought a shotgun cartridge to school for show and tell. Nobody cared, though. My friend also went crazy in chemistry and took off his shirt while working in a private room with big glass windows. Everyone saw, and he ended up getting sent to detention.

I’ll tell ya!! Let’s keep it simple. Kid got a god complex and thinks he’s everything, main character syndrome and I used to be friends with him. Let’s go threw the list why he has gotten in trouble. 7th grade: expelled for- Two gun threats and a bomb threat. 8th grade expelled for: S3xual Assult and harassment and gun threat. 9th grade: not expelled but in trouble for: S3xual harassment (nothing physical) and threatening other students if they “mess with him”. I can say that I am a victim of S3xual harassment with this kid. He never touched me but tried to get me to do things I didn’t want to such as play strip poker or force me to call him “daddy”. Weird kid

The first expelled child at my schools was when I was in 5th grade. He was a new kid, and came in the middle of the school year. He was in my grade btw. He acted annoying, but it was most likely for attention. In his 2nd week at my school, started a fight. He got expelled bc of that. The second time was in 6th grade. This one kid in my grade was really mean and annoying. But it wasn't for attention, he was just an a-hole. He got expelled for starting a fight too. Those are the only two so far. Not my school nor am I 100% sure that this kid was expelled (though wouldn’t be shocked), but back at my brother’s high school in 2015/2016 before marijuana was legal in our state this one kid smoked pot and got caught. He went to juvie for a while, but then on the first day of school (his senior year) he was released and got caught again almost immediately for smoking marijuana in the school bathroom. This guy was so dumb. 😒
