I remember a telly programme where some celebrity (possibly Joanna Lumley?) was in India, and she went all "woke" and apologised to a local for Britain colonising his country. His response was to say (and I paraphrase because, at 70, my memory isn't that good) "What are you apologising for? Britain gave us a national railway system, a first class civil service, a wonderful education system, hospitals, what was at the time the most advanced sewage disposal systems in our cities, flushing toilets, indoor plumbing with drinkable water, indoor lighting, and the most precious gift of all: cricket."

There are many more inventions he has not included. Most of the sports were invented by us. Cricket golf football rugby tennis just for starters and coming to mind quickly for now. Two world wars were fought on the side of freedom and democracy. In one we stood alone with our immediate allies for a year. The modern world would not exist if it weren’t for the British. Our life changing inventions in construction communication computers and travel. Our music stands comparison with anyone. We invented the game of football. Our Premier League is the best in the world. All of this from a population of until recently around 50 million.

The photo of the bridge he showed The bridge is the worlds first metal bridge is made of Iron, built in 1779 and is still standing in Ironbridge on the River Severn in Shropshire. The iron was cast in furnaces which there are some remains and it was assembled using carpentry joints as they weren't sure how to join metal to metal.

Home of the tank is in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. I was shocked when I found out this is where the first tank was made. There is a memorial for it in Lincoln. I have a video about this on my channel.

The ARM Processor was invented by Sophie Wilson at Acorn in Cambridge. ARM is in everything now such as smart phones etc. It used to stand for Acorn Risc Machine. Yet the vast majority of people in the world (even in the UK) wouldn't even know what an Acorn Computer was..

My Dad almost Died of Diphtheria in Manchester when 8 years old. Only a Charity Doctor saved him he was later a WW2 Hero in North Africa & Italy. Had X5 kids who all grew up with great Morals

Like the guy indicated here on the video... Without those British inventions... The 8 Billion people currently on the earth... Would total just 1 Billion people... A massive 7 Billion people less than there currently are on the planet... Any British colonial wrongdoing throughout history... Should never be forgotten in any way shape or form... But neither should the fact ever be forgotten... That there are 7 Billion people currently alive today... That simply wouldn't be here... Without those incredible British inventions... In a few words: almost all of the certainties and immediately useful items of Knowledge we can cling to in this world. And the most selfless attitude to thinking in the quest for ultimate truth ever seen on this planet. And a lot of wit, irony and humour on top of all this. Try being a match to that. Or try renouncing anything that was made possible by the awsome ideas of the people listed above, all of them coming from English stock. Then speak, and try making and going your own way without the possibility of taking advantage of such wisdom. I wish you the best of luck.

Just to let you know most of these revolutionary discoveries were made by Scottish folk, in Scotland we are more socialist ( socialism is not communism as many Americans may think ) than the rest of the UK or world, we look after our people and help out, we think if you give someone a chance and freely give our knowledge, we in Scotland are not perfect but we look after each other as much as we can.
