The US has far less fast food options for vegans than the UK and Canada. One big obstacle for people going vegan or vegetarian is lack of choices when out with friends, on a road trip, out for the day, etc. Even if it's not the best thing ever for a fiver, I hope more places give us the vegan option. Love seeing both of you as always!

I'm surprised there's not much choice in the US, hopefully there will be more choices soon as it's only really been in the last 18 months-2 years that I've noticed a massive increase in veg & vegan choices in the UK.

The KFC chips are not vegan but the Mcdonalds ones are hence why they are not included in the meal. Apparently, they use the seem oil for the meat burgers to fry the chips. I normally get the Mcdonalds fries and then get a KFC vegan burger if they are close to each other. Also, the KFC vegan burger has been out about a year or two

If you can eat at home and make your own then do that but if you are out and need a bite and don't have other food choices then it is nice that they do have a meatless option. You didn't hate it so that is something.

Thanks for the honest opinion. It looked a bit naff so I won't bother. Btw, have you and Lauren tried the Linda McCartney's vegan chicken burgers? They're so yummy - they have a bit of a KFC style spice to them in the breadcrumbs.

I had some kind of veggie KFC burger a few years ago when one first came out and I thought it was just a quorn fillet on a bun too haha so the exact same thoughts as Lauren haha.

You need some cheese on that and then smother it in ketchup. We had take out fried chicken for the first time in years the other night and we were miserable afterwards from the grease, but life on the edge once in a while.

I like the vegan burger, but I think the only problem with it is it needs more filling of salad. It isn't just for veganuary as I had it a couple of times last year. It is pricey though.

What does the regular chicken burger meal cost? The equivalent of this 4.99 GBP vegan option. I don't understand why they don't sell chips with their meal is a British fast food meal a meal without chips.

I think a normal meal is about £6 but they come with chips and maybe even a side. It's definitely NOT a meal without chips! 😆

KFC chips aren't vegan, unfortunately. Which is mental. Always found the burger a bit bland - too dry and hard and lacking the seasoning. I agree you're just as well doing your own quorn at home.

Oh right, we just assumed they would be...silly us! I actually thought they seasoned it pretty well but Lauren thought it was lacking in seasoning so maybe my taste buds are lacking! Yeah, needed some sort of sauce and vegan cheese to help swallow.
