What amazing videos! 🎉 I feed my goldfish 12 times a day with a very small amount of pellets, spend 3 hours feeding them steamed egg, and provide tubifex worms throughout the night.

My goldfish get live duckweed daily. For treats I gave them earthworms, slugs (the small ones), mealworms, and smooth caterpillars, and steamed greens. I also make and feed the DIY fish food with egg.

The fish like the interpet fit & wild & i give them the d-allio plus granules every now and again along with various frozen food. Waiting for some random pellets from china to come to see what that's like.

What made you choose Oranda, I’m sure in one of your earlier video you preferred Ranchu and they were your favourite
@AquaticElements7 ай бұрын
I used to keep ranchu but preferred to switch to oranda with the depth of the new tank, and oranda provided a bit more presence in a large tank. Thanks 😁

You should do more research on high protein pellets as they are not good for fish digestion. Koi keepers are only feeding 40-45% protein during summer for a reason. Imo, if you keep feeding hulx and other high protein pellets, your fishes will get bloated and dropsy. Look up hikari wheat germ to help with fish digestion
@AquaticElements7 ай бұрын
Please take a look at my review on the HULX foods, I go into more explanation on the positive and negative impacts there 😊
@tonytp-l3j7 ай бұрын
@@AquaticElements and do you have any research that point to negative view on hikari pellets while other famous koi keeper saying that hikari pellets are good for fish digestion with wheat germ and yeast? You said you don't like wheat germ and yeast in himari ingredients list
@AquaticElements7 ай бұрын
I don't like the use of fillers like wheat and glutinous products, as this is far from the natural diet. Koi are very similar to their wild counterparts genetically, in comparison to fancy goldfish from the common goldfish. And so they have a far better digestive system, and capabilities of breaking down foods. The use of bulking agents and fillers can, therefore, have an increased detriment to the Fancy Goldfish due to their physical differences, in my opinion. Thank you 😊
@tonytp-l3j7 ай бұрын
@@AquaticElements then why do you think carp researchers suggests wheat germ and yeast to help with digestion and avoid high protein food? While unknown youtubers keep spreading misinformation and say avoid wheat herm yeast and go for high protein? Keep update on your goldfish and i expect they won't last long due to high protein food.

I would read and listen to what I say before making accusations. Firstly, I haven't created any miss information, simply portrayed my opinion in videos. Secondly, I haven't just come up with my opinions from no background or research. I have a bachelor of science degree in fisheries, and over a decades experience in the industry. I never ask anyone to accept or act on my opinions, Just share my thoughts and ideas. I've never said high protein is a must and the way forward. You're welcome to do the same. Thanks for watching, and I appreciate your views 👍🏼

Bizarrely one of my orandas likes to eat fins of the other goldies she was bullying one particular ranchu which I removed from the tank now she has attacked all the other goldfish so I’ve had to remove her she had just spawned last week so I don’t know if this has anything to do with it Is this normal I’ve never experienced it before
@AquaticElements7 ай бұрын
Very strange indeed, are you sure she's not a male fish? To me, it sounds like possible breeding behaviour

You can feed crushed up pellets that you feed to older fish. Or daphnia ans blood worms is very good. High protein pellets that are very fine work well too

You need to be careful of live tubifex it can carry parasites. Freeze dried are cleaner and have the same nutrients. 😊
