That’s one of the reasons BTAS Clayface and just, most versions of Clayface is so interesting! You have all these guys who are just sorta crazy with a gimmick but then you have a person who most forms of usual combat just don’t work on. Slice his head off? His head just schlorps back on. Or that attacks you as well! Think of that scene from The Thing (1982) after the doctor gets his arms ripped off. Head grew limbs and skittered about. I'm curious to see how this new Clayface will reflect this show's version of Batman. In BTAS it was identity struggles, but this probably feels like it will be about whether or not taking on a secret identity brings out the best (Batman) or worst (Clayface) in you. Edit: Actually, having given it some thought, it's more likely about what happens if the character you play takes over your life. Basil always played the monster, and eventually he truly became it. Hopefully Bruce doesn't become the same.

Just as an example; Carry Grant, William Haines, Greta Garbo, Marlon Brando, Anthony Perkins, James Whale, Ceaser Romero, Vincent Price and many more were (and are) some of the most iconic actors and directors of their time…and ALL of them were either gay or bisexual. Heck, Whale was actually one of the VERY FEW openly out gay people in Hollywood at the time. He still got work too! It was also very customary at the time for studios to straight up marry some of their own actors in order to hide their queer identity. I also just realized that this Clay-Face kinda looks like Jonah Hex or Judge Doom.

I don't mind comparing the new voices with the DCAU iteration's VA Ron Perlman. Now, Deathstroke/Slade Wilson, on the other hand... Am really not fond of current streaming Western animation cartoons having at most 8 to 10 eps. At least anime nowadays that won't get a new season just because can get 13 or 24+ eps. I really wonder if his victims will include a Daggett and a Bennett. For me, there better not be a Joker, or rather, make sure the Joker gets killed off early in the start or at the end of the first season. No resurrections and fake deaths too.

In the world the show depicts, Karlo wouldn't need a 'beard', although the stalked actress does call him out for his whole shtick being super-dramatic and over the top, so maybe his interests are not in her sexually, but following the plot and themes of the movies he's pigeonholed into, which he even admits. I would wonder about the career of the great Peter Lorre, who I think this Karlo resembles, and whether he had similar frustrations. Given the extremely dark tone of the show, I wonder if he will develop full shape-shifting abilities and maybe the dissolving touch. As for Matt Hagen in BTAS, for some reason, his eps, especially the one with the doctor in love with him, always make me think of lyrics to the Gordon Lightfoot song 'If You Could Read My Mind' - there's a passage about a discarded actor in there, but the whole thing seems to catch that Hagen.
