I have a theory about this Joker. That he will be cold, calculated, precise, and a genius. It’s suggested that he made the joker toxin himself, which I think is a nod to his intelligence. And instead of a crazy man who is trying to show the world his sense of humor, he will be a crazy man who is desperately trying to find humor in SOMETHING. Killing is the closest he can get, but it’s still not satisfying. If this were to be the case, I’d love it if he never laughed or smiled- until much later on when he finally finds humor in something. That something being Batman. And I’d love his laugh to be deep, dark, and creepy, then turn maniacal. But yeah that’s just my theory/ hope.

My assumption was that Joker laughing gas in the DCAU was lethal if someone didn’t get immediate medical help like with the laughing fish victims or Arthur Reeves. Other examples, like the guards in Holiday Knights, I just assumed they were dead but the team told the sensors that they weren’t so they could get it through.
@SerumLake2 ай бұрын
Yeah, the censors wouldn’t let BTAS Joker gas kill anyone, it always forced them to convulse their in fits of laughter - possibly a fate worse than death if not treated. They did hint at one of the victims getting murdered in Holiday Knights, but it’s not clear if the Joker toxin was the cause.
@solleehasnolife47802 ай бұрын

I have an idea for this Joker's story, and it takes inspiration from the Invisible Man from BTAS This Joker is a serial killer at the start after one bad day and left his family, but he is not insane, though he is still a theatrical killer. But over season 2, he keeps accidentally inhaling minor amounts of his own laughing gas, causing him to mentally decline, including getting amnesia and physically becoming more dirty and deformed. He would even get scenes of him talking about his past but without any traces to a key character, as he is alone in the scenes. He will have a lot of encounters, but a decent amount of his plans will fail. When he has his finale with Batman, all the poisonous gadgets he made finally takes the toll on him, and through a trance, believes Batman is his polar opposite demon, and gets that heath ledger relation before he is arrested. Finally, we see him without the makeup in Arkham, but with how deformed he got, they cant match him with a single criminal, making him a John Doe. So essentially his own actions delete his identity.

I may be talking out my ass right now but, what if the Joker right now is just some regular smart guy who's committing elaborate attacks involving his joker toxin. His white skin right now is purely makeup. But by the end of season 2, Joker in his last encounter with Batman falls into a vat of his own toxin. Due to basically micro dosing himself to his toxin constantly, he's built a slight immunity that allowed him to survive. He is however, horribly disfigured with a permanent smile and white skin. I hope the Caped Crusader's Joker portrayal is that of an unequivocal heel (to borrow a term from wrestling), akin to Clayface, devoid of any redeemable qualities. Sympathetic villains or antiheroes as secondary characters often overshadow the protagonist, diminishing their appeal to fans. As an aside, this was evident in the animated Harley Quinn series, where Kite Man, depicted as Ivy's bumbling yet sympathetic boyfriend (rather than, for example, a boorish, over-confident jerk), inadvertently stole the spotlight from the titular, main character. HBO's Penguin exemplifies an ideal approach. By the series' end, he emerges as the unscrupulous gangster familiar from the comics. This portrayal culminates in a genuinely satisfying final scene, where the Bat-signal illuminates the night sky, symbolizing the inevitable triumph of good over evil. The metaphorical hammer of justice is going to come down on the Penguin sooner or later, reinforcing the narrative that no matter how cunning or ruthless he becomes, he cannot escape the consequences of his actions.
@Passions55557 күн бұрын
The Harley Quinn show I feel tried too hard to make Kiteman this shows version of Jerry Smith from Rick and Morty. Jerry Smith is portrayed as this ineffectual, utterly incompetent, PATHETIC loser most of the time who is emotionally needy and only get brief moments to redeem himself. The Harely Quinn show tries to give Kitman a similar vibe so that we the audience laugh at him and think he too incompetent and lame to deserve Poisen Ivy and all root for Harley (whose a complete twat toward Kiteman) to get him, because she is the better choice to be with Ivy. Serious misfire too, because they accidently, either through the writing or the performance of Kiteman's voice actor made him too endearing as a lovable doofus to look down him and made Harley come off as a petty, unpleasant bitch next to him.
@Primordial_Synapse7 күн бұрын

I do like the idea of Harleen Quinzel being the reason the Joker exists mostly because it'd be a strong inversion of her character that would better work for the "food for thought" aspect. Like if Harleen didn't know that she created the Joker but was ultimately responsible for it, it'd give an interesting and much needed twist that the BTAS writers really would look for. Basically stating that she "doesn't exist in a vacuum, realistic events ultimately lead to them being loosely related, but she isn't DESIGNED to be related". That's one of the things I like about Caped Crusader. Unlike BTAS, they really are trying to go for more of a "This COULD happen in reality" path rather than a "Set the stage and roll with it". (e.g. Two face's gimmick relying on him being bipolar always felt like an "easy way out" to describe the character, but doesn't feel realistic, it's very cartoonish because it's easy to explain, but it also falls into the trap of making it seem like people with mental disorders ARE partially evil because of the mental disorder, and that's not always true. So the way they handled Harvey in Caped Crusader felt like it would be less offensive and prejudice towards those with bipolar disorder by being sensitive to the way Harvey doesn't make a gimmick of his two halves and instead it's a lot more subtle, like a side saying "I didn't deserve this!" and the other side saying "I could've avoided this...."making him far more sympathetic despite being a villain by default. That's kind of the way I feel we should look at Caped Crusader. They're not writing this for young kids who need everything spelled out anymore, as we've all grown up and are adults now and they want to show us that respect as long time batman fans.

A cool backstory idea i have is that Joker, similar to the man who laughs, had his mouth disfigured by a wealthy socialite (instead of king, it's more of a modern day version of a "king" in amercia, as gotham isn't in England I'm pretty sure and doesn't have a monarchy) and Joker is extremely mad about that, despite what his mouth says, he probably had chemcials put into his hair and skin by the weathly socialite as well, the socialite forcing him to be his entertainment and basically his slave, forcing him to preform as a small disfigured kid/teenager, Joker luckily escaped, but his sanity like his appearance was changed forever, the chemcicals being dangerous messed with his brain, (he acts insane, but not manic or happy) and IF a Harley quinn and Joker teamup happens, i would imagine Joker finds Harley one day washed up somewhere near his area, when he was disposing a body, he finds it interesting that some girl in a jester costume washed up near his place, and decides to help her out (maybe for the heck of it, he was curious maybe? This backstory idea has him not be totally insane like BTAS and has SOMETHING there in him, which is up for interpretation) And Joker takes her in and saves her, Harley is shocked to see Joker when she awakes, but the 2 get along, Joker hates the rich from his backstory and Harley kills and tortures evil rich people who were her clients- at least she used to before batman stopped her, Joker gets inspired by Harley's story and by Harley's blessing, allows him to commit similar crimes to her as they both share the same ideals, (the 2 aren't dating ofc, but are friends as Harley is dating Renee) Joker and Harley help each other out after abit, helping each other out when they can (note i didn't say toxic relationship, as Harley is already with someone, Joker won't be dating her, and since Caped Crusader likes to do new things, it wouldn't be a stretch if Harley and Joker meant, it won't be a toxic relationship as it wasn't done alot) This is just me spit balling and having fun with this new interpretation we have little information about, don't take this seriously

One Thing That I see Guaranteed is this, No Matter What type of Joker we get, No matter If He has a giant grin on a different twisted face or If he'll even Laugh like a manace or is more serious...Gotham Will never be the same Once the Joker makes his big debut to the City. Also as a little correction Joker in the DCAU has killed people with the Joker Venom a decent amount of times and has been viewed as pretty lethal (It didn't kill the victims in laughing fish because Batman had the treatment he needed on him so it wouldn't kill the victims) We have seen Joker take the life of Salvatore Valestra with that same Venom and yes I am aware that is a movie and not something made for a TV show but I think it still applies no matter where, Also In holiday nights Where you have the two Tide up Security personnel While you could argue are just paralyzed I wouldn't put it past joker that He did take the life of those Two Guards.

What if his motive is to force his victims to laugh to death because he’s a cold psychopath that’s resentful that he’s dead inside.

I'm so glad you mentioned _Beware The Batman._ That show had pretty much none of the expected characters, save for Harvey Dent, and it was still utterly _brilliant._ Very dark, but brilliant. Season 2 was planned to have more "classic" characters, but it's still a work in progress, I suppose. Regardless, I look forward to what comes in this new series. _Anything_ is a step in the right direction compared to _Harley Quinn's_ Joker…

For another character who has a permanent smile but is still very expressive, see Alastor from Hazbin Hotel.

Joker is gonna be the big threat for the next season. Assuming there will be a season 2. It’ll most likely be that there will be a background build up to the finale. A joker who hates openly and outwardly. Something akin to what Frank Miller did for Joker. It’s most likely going to be that Joker’s backstory will also be explored in Season 2.

ngl, I was extremely disappointed about the Joker showing up at the end of the season since I was under the impression that he wouldn't appear at all (at least for a while) it's gonna take some really drastic changes to sell me on the idea

8:30 It does make sense with her theme of what she does to them. She assigns them an archetype and turns them into it. Perhaps we have a 50/50 combo of origins. Secret identity crime lord Red Hood (N52) rather than the duped Red Hood (Moore). Then, he ends up her patient. He's got a secret identity because he finds it hilarious to be this big figure of crime but nobody knows who he is. He considers the other crime lords dupes. Most of them are public figures, some pretty brazenly known criminals and some with more of a double life. Him? He takes off the mask and goes back to his normal life. It's just so funny to him. His crimes themselves? He considers them dupes, fools, marks. He enjoys his sense of superiority, he's laughing at them. The Red Hood Gang still uses the dupes method, but he's the real head. He looks at it like a prank. So, she turns him into a clown. She's about turning people into what she sees as their true self, intended as debasement and humiliation. But with him, his true self really is a monster clown, and that's not debasing. It's freeing. She freed the beast. It's like how the comics have more recently indicated that Penguin knows Batman is Bruce Wayne and will kill anyone who solves this and tries to sell it to him, considering it the most important secret to safeguard. Because if you kill Bruce Wayne, all that's left is Batman. And that's _terrifying_ to Penguin. A Batman without the chains of Bruce Wayne is a nightmare creature, an unending war on crime without any identity to keep or downtime. Likewise, the only thing keeping Red Hood One under control was his secret identity, his normal life he could take the mask off and go back to. Without that, all that's left is the clown.

Genuinely, I rather they visit more obscure villains and reinvent them in a way that might revolutionize them, the way Mr Freeze and Clayface were forever changed by BTAS. Imagine the more predictable and boring villains like Mad Hatter or Calender Man or Zsasz gets new life as great villains like Mr Freeze and Clayface.

“Gwynplaine” actually gets referenced in JLA! The Joker used it for the name of a TV company. I always wondered where the name came from! Also from that episode Batman pointedly tells a TV exec “Gwynplaine is *the Joker*” which we can understand has a double meaning here.

But of course Beware the Batman was disliked for how it treated lesser onown villains! And it wasn't just because the better known villains weren't going to appear (Two-Face was going to appear [and was very similar to Caped Crusader's version] in future seasons). The bigger problem was that none of the villains were like their comic book counterparts. They were stand-ins for the big hitters! Prof. Pyg: Poison Ivy, Magpie: Catwoman, Anarky: Joker.

I’m sorry, but being able to animate any Batman should be considered an honour and to be able to incorporate the joker into your property is a privilege that you should take advantage of with the most care

To me at least Joker kind of sounds like he's voiced by Erik Todd Dellums who voiced Koh The Face Stealer in the Avatar franchise. This show while not making great use of the classic Batman villains is still using more well known ones compared to Beware The Batman where the most well known villain (until the final episode hinted at Two-Face) was probably Ra's Al Ghul (feel free to say someone else), while the obscure villains used in that show were stand-ins for more well known villains.

I'm not expecting the joker to have a crusade. My immediate theory was that he couldn't smile, and needed to force other people to smile in order the sympathetically feel joy through them. This need became twisted, as he simply isn't a nice enough or funny enough person to do that naturally... so as his mental condition deteriorates with the inability to feel or express joy naturally, he became sick and twisted, and turned to forcing people to smile chemically. I think that he doesn't care that his toxin kills people-it's inconsequential to him. I think that this new Joker still needs to be a force of chaos in Gotham, so the writers will design him so that his attacks are indiscriminate and without purpose other than for fulfilling his immediate personal need. The new joker will be an addict. As his need to smile through other people (even if it tortures and kills them) will give less and less back to him, so he will always be needing to ramp himself up to bigger and worse acts of terrorism to achieve the goal. Bigger gas attacks, and different methods of committing the atrocity. As a result, this new Joker may even develop a reputation as a very connected individual, at least within the sphere of spying and monitoring. He'll have eyes everywhere he can to find the best targets and to watch the misery he causes, which his broken mind mistakes for his own pleasure. In this, he could be Batman's greatest foe, still. He will force the batman to do better detective work, because the joker won't be leaving obvious clues. His crimes will be indiscriminate, and he'll be able to see batman coming or where he's going. Even without the potential for him to be a monitor-type villain, the chaotic nature of his attacks will leave batman reeling for how to solve the problem of the joker.
@anaj57262 ай бұрын
The permanent smiling Joker reminds me a bit of Alastor from Hazbin Hotel. Whilst he chooses to smile constantly; his eyes do convey his emotions well; but it also leaves us unaware of his true intentions. Nevertheless, the smile-less Joker might be the most fitting for Caped Crusaders' atmosphere and world.

Beware the Batman was the show that introduced me to Batman. I liked it even though the Joker wasn't in it. I guess the writers of CC chose to tease him so the show wouldn't get canceled like BtB.

(This is all opinion!) I just want a good, interesting Joker. In the last decade I've become so desensitized to him. He's become oversaturated, which wouldn't be a problem if he hadn't also become stale and predictable. The last time I thought someone did something interesting with Joker was in "Scooby-Doo and Guess Who", where he dresses up as Man-Bat to kidnap Alfred and steal Bruce Wayne's bank account. That's not even that good but it was a refreshing change of pace since everything after "The Brave and The Bold" and "Arkham City" wasn't my thing

My issue with Beware the Batman just that the left Joker out, but that they left Joker out and basically tried to turn Anarky into him. His personality, his schemes, the way he interacted with Batman, I admit that I don't know too much about how Anarky was in other iterations, but it just felt so apparent that they were trying to have a Joker without making him the Joker.

I get why some people's expectations were let down, but we already have BTAS. It's wonderful, and they should go watch it again if they want more of the same. I don't like some of the changes CC has made, but I love that they're embracing both the classic Batman as well as doing something completely new.
@fnafbendyranger123x2 ай бұрын
I hope when they introduce joker, they give him and Batman a real reason to be arch enemies, cuz that’s what I always felt was off. It felt like every iteration of their rivalry was just because DC said so, I mean look at other hero/villain rivalries, Optimus and megatron, two bots who wanted to bring change but fell out due to conflicting ways on handling it and megatron thinking prime betrayed him. Flash and reverse flash/ professor zoom, the same man who killed flash’s mother. Spider man and green goblin, the goblin caused spidey to accidentally kill Gwen to save her. But Batman and joker? Where’s the real reason for their rivalry? Where’s the leverage? I hope that season 2 will help with that.

I hope the Joker doesn't become too prominent in the series once he appears. As interested as I am in seeing the new take on him I'm much more interested in seeing some of the less-frequently used villains.
