Another great turkey hunting tip for beginning turkey hunters.
Gobbler's don't always gobble and work like they suppose to, in fact it's very seldom they do.
So what do you do when they won't Gobble?
Here is a great tip that might just help you.
Follow me on our Facebook page for more turkey tips and information.

I can agree with this 100%. Last spring hunt I was calling with no returns and decided to leave my spot after 2 hours. Pushed bush in a different spot and had no success so I went back to my truck, looked at my first spot on the way back and there was 3 toms/jakes that were 50 feet from my spot. They seen me and high tailed it into the sticks. Stay where you are and be patient.

I want out at 5 this morning, no gobbling. I sat for 3 1/2 hrs, still nothing. I moved to another location deep in the public land. 15 minutes later had a Tom come into my set up. By 9:30 I was hauling my bird out - about a mile hike!

I went turkey hunting 2 years ago with a buddy and we never seen a bird but on the last day we hunted the whole day at 12 we yelped in a box call and boom a gobbler we called him in to a easy 10 yard shot and killed him he had 1 in spurs and a 9 in beard. Last year i hunted with my grandpa and as soon as we got out of the truck gobblers were gobbling everywhere they flew down and Quit gobbling later I heard the leaves moving behind me and it was a gobbler i shot him he was 26 lbs,11 1/2 in.beard

Back again, I messed up on the comment below, the reason i don't like using a decoy or blind in this situation is because the gobblers are wary of both by this time of the season they are well educated by novice hunters in blinds with decoys, usually by this time the under brush is really greened up so you may need to change to a different camo pattern

What about in the late season? Here in SW Ontario I took the last four days of the season off. I had scouted and saw two strutters in the back, inside corner of a freshly planted corn field. I got permission and I sat there all afternoon. Didn't hear a thing. The next morning I tried moving around more and stumbled upon a couple of jakes. The next day I walked some public land and saw only hens. Frustrated, I drove around the last afternoon of the season here (May 31st, season closes at 7pm) and saw only hens in the fields for 50km! Is there a point in the late season when toms will stop gobbling, stop coming out of the bush, and stop being interested in breeding completely? What then?
@artifactman660

Stephen Palmateer those hens you seen probably were done being receptive. stay out and call you'll get a Tom to come in.may take a bit but stay put and call sparingly. like one series every hour .

What you do when turkeys don't gobble. Is Keep huntin and keep your eyes open, and yes your right. Have patience. After 40 years of chasing these magnificent birds, I finally got it. Patience!! Hunt as late as you can, and watch out for Sneaky Petes!! You can get them if you believe in what you are doing!!

Well, Ive killed my share of birds in my lifetime and I will back you up on your advice. I would like to add that if it is windy, go to lower terrain and try to minimize its impact on your hunt. Also, switch up your calls. Some turkeys like a diaphragm sound vs.box... Remember that even if you do everything right that bird dictates your end result. Be persistant. Stay out there til 1:00. Even experienced hunters can be duped! Good luck!

gettin ready for opening day here in S.c. opens up Sunday. They are hot and fired up, and so am i. I have killed bigger birds between 12:00-3. when the hens are on roost. if you are callin to a gobbler and he doesn't come your way, he is henned up. but he won't forget where he heard you earlier. stay put. he will visit. may be a silent one, but he's still on the prowl.

Here in Mo. i killed many birds, in late season gobblers tend to get call shy and the rut is winding down, gobblers may gobble 1 time. I have often left the timber when after 1to 2 hours and no show, but at high-noon sneak back in and get within 100yds. of where he had roosted, a lot of longbeards tend to make a big 1/2 mile circle and end up close to their regular roosting site at high-noon, the call to use then is a couple of clucks, you are now the hunted, cluck only twice about every 20 minutes, use no decoy and no blind, because, stay hid and don't move, remember you are the hunted, a lot of times he will come from behind you, sometimes you win sometimes you don't.... good luck i like this video.

2nd year turkey hunting. Opening day, I sat in 18mph wind. 10:30-12:30nothing. Went to lunch and saw a male in road at 12:30. 2-4pm saw a Tom coming down ridge after hen...but I didn't shoot because of so many trees and angle, she flew away. Moved down the creek a couple hundred yards. At 6:30pm 5 beards ran behind my tree, jumped creek and zigzagged SO FAST after they saw me. I had to turn 120 degrees to see them and I got busted but they were moving fast already. Not one gobble that entire day but I had two encounters. They're there moving on a windy day
