Tap water undermines every penny you spend and all livestock you intend to introduce. Also, lava rock can leech all kinds of bad stuff into a reef tank, do some research make sure it’s ok.

Hobbyist Fishkeeper hey it’s a cool system, water is one area where you will get direct feedback. So many aspects of our systems are debatable, especially this new generation of hobbyists have a slur of convenience gear marketed towards them... I would only challenge in the case of reefing, water is a non negotiable. Looking forward to seeing your system develop!

I’ve got one of these tanks and can’t stress enough, go out of your way to use RO/DI water, either buy some from a LFS or buy a unit to make your own and don’t assume water bought from your lfs is clean enough to minimise any issues you might get from imperfect water

Iv got a fluval spec 60 marine on its way, basically same tank but 8liter bigger lol got a eheim 1000l return pump on order as for marine u want the flow up around 20x so would give me just over 16x Going with a 100w heater thinking the fluval e? But not decided yet, going to buy things a bit each fortnight. Decent vid keep up the work

Looks like a great set up (although I have no idea having no experience in salt water). A fantastic vid for people wanting to know what is needed to set up a nano reef. Keep up the good work looking forward to seeing it progress. I will be doing a salt water tank in the distant future, your vids will help me encourage the fiancée to allow me to do it ;)
