My comment was in reference to the artists criticizing the swastika as a poor idea and the fact that it would be difficult to get a job with it, saying they wouldn't have tattooed that, when Manson did that to himself because he was legit crazy and was a white supremacist who convinced a group of people to murder several people in order to start a race war. Using a jail tatt on Charles Manson as an example was a poor choice, and while they might have said he was a cult leader, the points they were making had no context to who they were looking at. I've literally never seen anyone outside Manson and his "family" ever had a swastika dead center on their forehead in that way. White supremacists tend to get more coded tattoos like "18" for AH = Adolf Hitler. Or "14/88" = Colin Jordan's "Fourteen Words". Others get prominent tattoos that are covered by clothing, and those in prison are usually part of the Aryan Brotherhood and are just head to toe in white supremacist iconography. For the purpose of the video, jail tattoos aren't really in sync with the idea they were going for, and none really acknowledged that people who die in prison (or imprisoned in a hospital room) and get jail tatts really, really don't care about the quality or their future employment opportunities. The point wasn't just that they don't vaguely recognize him as a cult leader, they didn't acknowledge any of the things I laid out above, which would've been (to me) the disqualifying factor in even commenting on that tattoo, and their comments weren't really applicable to Charles Manson. The logical thing to me would've been to say that I wouldn't tattoo a white supremacist/Nazi symbol on anyone, but the swastika isn't a Nazi symbol, it is a Hindu & Buddhist symbol that Hitler appropriated after seeing it on a fence design, which was part of his lifelong fascination with magic and the occult. But the fact that they're commenting on the jail tatt of a cult leader and man who set in motion a collective killing spree and was sentenced to life in prison just never came up. Which is weird, considering the rest of the tattoos were professionally done and didn't touch on bigotry, criminality, jail tattoos or anything of the sort. A dick in Trump's mouth and a pussy in a coffin aren't anywhere near the level of a hugely infamous and racist criminal who spent the vast majority of his life in prison.

Slightly off topic, but one of the artists was talking about placement and how some people have only ththeir hands and/or face tattooed and nowhere else...for me as a tattooed person (I have 44 and counting) and talking to artists I know, that is so irresponsible. The guys I know would only tattoo those parts of the body on someone who is already heavily tattooed elsewhere as the commitment is huge and it can effect the rest of your life including job prospects.

It's not even a mirror image, the swastika has been in use for a long time (think millennia) before the Nazis, both ways around. (The mirror image is sometimes called the suwastika, I believe.) But it is kind of impossible to escape the Nazi connotations these days, at least in the Western cultural area. Even if you have the mirror image version tattooed on you, you're probably going to have some explaining to do. Or some awkward encounters with people you really wouldn't want to cheering you on.
