wharsmetoothpicson brolly played before the back door, meaning Derry had to win Ulster in order to play in the all Ireland series, which was no mean feat considering how competitive Ulster was in the 90’s with down winning the all Ireland twice, Donegal winning the all Ireland and Derry winning too with Tyrone getting to the final. Count up his scores in Ulster and that’ll tell you how good joe really was

What I am talking about is the systematic manner in which Kerry dragged the standard of sportsmanship down to a level I have never seen at the semifinal/final stage. As for the Donegal comparison, that's fine. Reach for those stars but, like Kilkenny in hurling, you're held up as the aristocracy of the code and I would hope that, if you don't uphold the high standards of the teams from the past, at least have the decency to acknowledge it.
