That chain in the sunroom looks like its supporting that partition.

It’s actually holding the front and back walls together to keep them from pushing out and collapsing, since there’s no collar ties.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I find that houses in the older houses New England are so beautiful! (1700-1800) The huge fireplaces, beautiful wood floors, the landscaping, the layout, something about those older houses feel so enchanting like storybook type. 😹 I’m weird I guess

So great of you to say "Come see our inventory!"..... then hide it so it can't be seen. What a dick.

I love your vlogs, and would like to know if you plan on doing any before and after episodes, visiting homes that were purchased and “fixed up”?
@pinksparkle496218 сағат бұрын
I think this has potential. I like it. I would like to see those Cabinets restored and I would keep the Teal Sink and Tub. I wish I could see an after , after someone buys it and fixes it up. That push button range top is so Cool !

I would like to see the original kitchen cabinets restored. I would also keep the tub.

4:34, unless you want the roof to collapse don’t take that chain down, it’s holding the front and back walls together, since there’s no collar ties in that space. It’s not a safety concern, it was probably put in when that space was built. 7:40, I think the basement was dug down deeper, that’s why the floor is missing.

Some interesting features in this house...That end room looks as if it could've been a 2-car garage, converted into living space; that chain is kind of holding it together (no collar-ties or roof trusses). The end bedroom may have been two rooms originally; the ceiling light fixture, at 6:54, is oddly-placed; may have been a very small center bedroom, considering where the window is. I think steel cabinets were kind of "the thing" ca. 1940s-50s, and it does appear that the bsmt. floor was jack-hammered out; flooding issues, likely. At least there are a couple of spare toilets!

I can picture some vet building that home to his own specs back in the day, I love the kitchen - cooktop instead of slide in stove, very unique. Might be a tear-down, you could do a lot with that site.

holes in some of the dry wall could mean scavengers might have come looking for the copper Definitely some potential for a 3 bd 1 1/2 bath starter home. backyard could use a nice privacy fence too.

Totally salvageable, not that bad at all. The location near the train tracks and possibly in a flood zone might be the worst part about it.

Could be a nice property with alot of money but pretty much need to do from basement to chimney. It unfortunately might be more fiscally prudent to tear down and start from scratch.

This is western-ish. West of Worcester but east of Springfield. Pioneer valley area. What a shame. Those mid-century ranches were often well built. I had one.

Yea the chain is holding the sunroom together , I would not remove it.

Do not remove that chain it appears to be holding the roof up

100%, Correct It’s keeping the front and back walls from pushing out.
@andyd5492Күн бұрын
The chain is to keep the front and back walls from spreading.
@redneckbryon21 сағат бұрын
I don’t see how it would’ve been a safety concern. It’s probably been there since the house was built.

looks like it's going to be a full gut for this property

So it’s next to railroad tracks, in a flood plain (?) and two busy looking streets. Guess since it’s pending someone saw the potential.

Nick, You really need to work on getting the terminology and references as to what you are describing in your walk throughs. Most people do not know the difference from a gutter or a downspout when it comes to roof drainage nor a gable from a hip in regards to roof style and in general your descriptions of these real estate previews are marginal and limited as to their value in the videos. What most people who are not professionals in the contracting end of the housing industry are not aware of is that if there is a substantial renovation required that either the dollar amount and or the square footage of the renovation will trigger many code upgrades to the MEP's such as the plumbing materials, insulation codes, electrical service, foundation loads, setbacks from lot lines, etc. There is almost always an underlying reason why the property fell into major disrepair leading to the foreclosure...and one cannot do enough due diligence in these situations to be cautious here.
