They should repeat the study with $2000, then $3000.

A small basic income would supercharge the country.

i love you guys and will continue to invest time in your quality journalism but HF's coverage of this study was like 75% the same as what i would find in conservative news. and given NYT's leanings, and given the hosts' own political affiliations, i can only guess that the reason there wasnt more interest in exploring the study's very positive findings was and i hate to say it class and socioeconomic status gotta downvote this one, fellas.

I thought the same thing. I was very disappointed with the perspective they tried to push, as if working were our only purpose in life and without it, we would automatically lose ourselves. 😐

They always question the opposing side, every decent reporter should do that, even if it doesn't agree with their views. Kevin seems particularly good at this. Almost every time Kevin will say here are the things I hear opponents saying. What would you say to that? He should continue to do that regardless of the topic. If it's something you like reporters shouldn't ask any difficult questions or point out any negatives. If it's something you don't like people complain they didn't push back enough or sometimes say you shouldn't have even had them on because it gives them a platform. I feel like most people want terrible journalism that only supports their ideology these days.

@@VictoriaRed18 it's not our only purpose but it is a huge part of how everything functions. If you give people money and they work less that can become a really big problem. Where does the money come from then? I am not saying it won't or can't work but it is a valid concern.

Andrew Yang was laughed out of politics because of this very issue. I just don't see a basic income happening in this lifetime. Humanity is just not ready for it.

No. A thousand bucks a month is too lavish for communism.
