What does $100 get you in Stockholm...really? Sweden is an expensive place, so let's see what you can get for $100 in the most expensive city in Sweden.
In this video I explore what transportation around the city costs, what more or less typical souvenirs cost, and what some touristy activities will set you back. I also check out a Swedish marketplace, typical Swedish food, and - most importantly - how much beer costs in Stockholm.
Ever wondered what a viking helmet costs in Old Town? Or what a Dala Horse is? Or what typical Swedish kebab pizza looks like? Or how many of your internal organs you have to sell to afford to drink alcohol in Stockholm? Then this video is for you.

This is such a great idea for a video! It's so fun to see the things that you were attracted to buying and eating and trying. That viking pizza, hahaha! We love how you ended the video with a tribute to enjoying the best part of traveling--joining others outside in the sunshine in a beautiful park. Also it's awesome to see a clip of the island that you featured a few videos ago!

Whee, thank you! It was really fun trying to think of weird but still likely things to show off. Too bad that I couldn’t find a creamy "semla" to show... Haha, sneaky planning of me to shoot a clip at the island in preparation for this upcoming video 😀 But yeah the free things are almost the most important ones after all!

I hate North American cinnamon buns because of the frosting, I always make cinnamon buns without the frosting. I really loved the Swedish cinnamon buns and always had them when I had fika in Sweden. I only bought dish cloths with Swedish motifs such as Dalarna horses, Swedish Midsummer and Swedish Folk Dancers. Visited Skansen outdoor museum, Vassa Museum because we learned about it in my Swedish language class and we were told to visit it if we were ever in Stockholm. Didn’t have time to visit the ABBA Museum because I thought it was a tourist trap, although I enjoyed the Viking Museum, Birka Island and the boa trip around the Stockholm archipelago!

@ThreeStarVagabond Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you managed to do a lot of things! :D And I actually avoided the ABBA museum as well for a long time, but I ended up having a lot of fun when I finally went there. It is a bit expensive, but not a tourist trap as I feared. Good on you for liking the non-frosting buns! Haha, that's just about the only thing Swedes get upset about, I think.

Lol I would like to see what 10 dollar would get you in Stockholm. You can get just as much of a turist experience just having that much even in Stockholm. There usually are free entertainments I belive there is a free boat ride/ ferry, there are the botanical gardens, museums that are free, and there are free guidning tours like walking through the city and around the castle, and there are apps that is used by restaurants where you can get food that might be a wrong order or leftovers that you can get for free or for cheap. And there are places where you can go eat and pay what you can, and buying soveneirs can be cheap if you go the secondhand stores or flea markets, same with food trucks and the like. Or you can still use the bus or the train which is fairly cheap you dont need to get around in the flashy way, but there are places that lets you have a bike or scooter for one day trial.
@ThreeStarVagabond

I absolutely agree! Many of the things in this video actually came from thinking up silly things I could show in Stockholm - like buying Dala horses or a viking hat. And a kebab pizza! It felt like a fun way to show pretty much true costs of touristy things while having a bit of fun with it all :)

@@ThreeStarVagabond Good morning, did you make a video about public transport? And how to get to the city from Arlanda to the central station? I don't really understand the ticket up to 75 minutes. Is this one way for duration up to 75 minutes? Is that the cheapest option? You would help me a lot! Thanks a lot for this! Michaela
@ThreeStarVagabond
@ThreeStarVagabond Жыл бұрын
@@MiDa2000 Actually, I haven't done that yet...but that could be a good idea! Alright, so there are a few options for getting from Arlanda to the city: 1) Taxi (expensive) 2) Arlanda Express train (a bit less expensive, quick) 3) VY Flygbussarna bus (not that expensive, decent speed) (129 SEK if you buy online and get a QR code; more expensive if you buy a physical ticket) 4) Public transport. This one is a bit complicated because there are multiple tickets. I believe that you can simply go to the commuter train station (at Sky City near Terminal 5) and buy one for 132 SEK. The 75 minute SL ticket is basically a public transport ticket that's valid on commuter trains / bus / subway and you can change between them within those 75 minutes. BUT for the airport there's a specific Arlanda addition required. Thus the 132 SEK for the commuter train.
