Why isn't this made out of a reflective material, so that the light that goes to the sides doesn't get absorbed, but directed to the front, wouldn't that be more efficient?

I have a amaran 60 s and a light dome mini III with grid. So I am not using the hyper reflector and the facric diffusion I cannot piut on. light mini dome II and hyper reflector I cannot put on the same time? I see the the honecomp pattern as light on my wall.

Softens and DIFFUSES the light. Though most people don’t know or understand the difference but they serve different functions. Usually larger sources are also diffused and we’re used to getting both at the same time and don’t make the distinction. A large light source is equally soft whether it’s diffused or not. So usually when people want to make a light softer, they usually mean diffused. Softness is only relative to the size of the light in relation to the subject. If you want softer light, move it closer to the subject or make a bigger source. Diffusion does not soften a light, it just diffuses (scatters) the light.
