I just wanted to say thank you for your courage in making these videos. I think I must have watched every video on you tube about ileostomies but never found anyone in my situation. I’ve had motility issues since pelvic trauma caused by a traumatic birth 15 years ago. They are considering an ileostomy at the minute and honestly I’m so fed up I’d snap their hand off for it. It’s been so nice to see someone in my situation and how positive you have been about it. I hope things are still going well for you.

I’m three weeks post surgery and I fainted the first time I attempted to change the bag myself too! I thought it was just me! My husband is helping me change it now, but I still have to lay down while we do it. I am afraid I’ll never get used to this, but I want to be self sufficient. I hope I get better about it. Thanks for sharing this, it makes me feel a little better. 💙 Karen

Another great educational video! You still look full of energy. My doctor is going to have a home nurse come to my house and do a colon flush. From the colon to my bottom side, I never heard of this before being done. But he wants to clear out all the mucus, and start making my rectum muscle start to work again. For all you been through you still you look full of energy.

You are so awesome and I can't tell you how much I appreciate all that you share. I had a blockage which I didn't realize until I watched your video. The pain was unbearable..but I tried everything you suggested and you saved me. I just needed to buy a few days until I see my surgeon and you've done that. Thank you so much and I pray you are feeling better ( my intestine ruptured in September so this is all new to me. I didn't even know I had issues prior to almost dying)

I have an ostomy for almost 5yrs. My bladder ruptured in 2014 and in 2016 I lost my bladder. I also needed a neprostomy tube in my left kidney right after surgery. All the best to you!! 🙏🙏

I have a permanent ileostomy for a year and a month. I don’t feel comfortable getting a bathing suit and I can hid it in my pants because it either rips of or the stool get pancake ( which is a pain when I need to empty. I still feel self conscious about it showing with some of my shirts even though I don’t care. Thanks for this video. Also thanks to my doctor I still have a butt crack.

I'm four weeks post surgery.. It's all been one huge shock, I couldn't even look at my wound at first but then realised nobody should be expected to change it but me... I'm a little sore underneath but with a bit of stoma talc it seems to be easing... I do feel very weak and my mood is very low.. Hopefully that will ease soon to..

You are still really early on in your recovery so just take things day by day and don’t have any expectations for yourself... this is the mistake I made, expecting things too soon and then beating myself up for not being able to do it. Recovery and healing is up to 12 weeks so allow yourself that time 😊❤️ sending you lots of healing xx

I’ve never seen a loop ileostomy. I have an end ileostomy that is permanent and I had barbie butt surgery. I couldn’t even look at my stoma after my surgery cause I was nervous. I got my surgery cause I kept having pain and bowel obstructions every couple months. The obstructions were horrible.

It can be a weird thing to start looking at- even I struggled to start with! I hope the obstructions have now resolved!

@@gutmylifeback7926 knock on wood the surgery took care of the strictures and adhesions and I haven’t had an obstruction in almost 2 years since I had my surgery. It was a rough recovery though.

Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you are feeling much better now🙏🏻I have had a stoma since 2011 and I have developed a stricture and over the last year I have been putting off my surgery due to Covid. Well I havent had any output in 72 hrs and I will be on my way to the er in the morning if nothing has passed. I hope they will be able to get things moving but I’m pretty sure it will be an open revision (not laparoscopic) and I’m scared to death. I have tried everything at home and all I can think of that blocked me is gluten free tortilla chips and cherries. Lol I woulda thought the opposite with cherries but duh the skin 😂🤣🤣 I shoulda known better.
