What does biodiversity do for us?

How does biodiversity affect ecosystem services (everything nature provides for our survival)? The answer is complex, but this much is clear: we need to preserve the biodiversity we're so rapidly losing, and to support research that gives us real insight into how ecosystems work.
This was a student project for an intro conservation biology course, taught by Brad Cardinale at the School of Natural Resources & Environment at the University of Michigan.
