Hard to believe its been 21 years since I learned about the Weber Smoky Mountain and how to BBQ from Chris' excellent website.

Thanks Chris. This is the first example of ChatGPT I’ve seen. Might be fun … might.

LOL, the devices are indeed always listening. I'm logged in to a BBQ forum and also have used ChatGPT extensively for the past three weeks. So, then, of course, youtube recommends a video by the BBQ forum admin about ChatGPT. I think it's one thing to ask ChatGPT about things you already know the answer to-- you have prior knowledge as a basis to either accept or dismiss what it tells you. The more disturbing aspect is that, when asked about something the questioner has no prior knowledge of, and it responds in an authoritative voice with what is sometimes to some degree BS, that the questioner will accept it as fact and then repeat it. And you know what they say about a lie repeated often enough... I've found that it responds well on subjects that are widely known, but often, when posed a question about an obscure subject, will happily tell you something bizarre like (imperfect example here) the "Fab Four" were named Larry, Curly, Moe and Shemp, and, only when you hit the Regenerate button will it (maybe) correct itself to some degree.

I heard you can even say “write a story about a super hero making barbecue” and it will write you a story!
