I’m sick of hearing about Connie Smith. If she wasn’t with Marty and his constant promoting of her, you wouldn’t hear about her this much.

And that’s unfortunate, because she paved the way for so many artists (seen as she’s a 56 year member of the Opry, a Hall of Famer, “Once a Day” in the National Registry, listed on The Rolling Stones list of greatest country singers, #9 of CMT’s Top 40 Women of Country, etc.). I think Marty is finally giving her the attention she deserves. Connie was big in the 60s and 70s. The only reason she’s not as big as others her age (Dolly, Loretta, Willie…), is because she stepped away from fame to raise her family and focus on her faith. Sounds like a pretty credible woman to me. This is coming from a 16 year old that has nothing to do with music. It’s her humility and kind heart, along with the incredible talent that deserves to be heard of.
