It is great that you find and present all kinds of products at various price points. I haven't been to an audio show. A local store owner (was Sound Decisions) saw the BAT 60 so I auditioned the stereo version and bought mono amps (two stereo amps, bridged). I thought the stereo version sounded better. I had these with the BAT Vic05 preamp - no phono stage. Enjoyed these for 10 years. Then, restarted my DIY hobby and felt the first power amps and preamp sounded better in terms of spaciousness, detail and focus so I sold them. Power vacuum tubes seem to eventually sputter and make shot gun sound as they warm up so I prefer solid state power amps and have both tube and solid state preamps, all sound great. On the turntable side, I downloaded an arcProtractor I which you enter the arm length (as I recall), print it and verify (measure it). This made my Rega RP8 sound heads above where I was putting the cartridge. Before - clear but lifeless - with a better alignment -- life-like. I was so disappointed with it I bought a Transrotor Dat Bob Reference, Kuzma 4Point (11-inch) and several cartridges $2K Soundsmith Zephyr Star MIMC is a great valu cartridge. Anyway, a show brought some of the equipment to me for lasting enjoyment. One of your sub woofer reviews of a few was of particular interest. I wanted a couple subs to complement the low-end of my 1974 Klipschorns. I selected the SVS 12-inch with Bluetooth configuration as my other Rythmik F12's are "difficult" to see the controls. In this video it was mentioned how convenient the remote setup was, so that pushed me from Rythmik to SVS. You always try to show the pluses but also mention key items that could matter and I appreciate that.

I remember back in the days... Dieter Burmester was the first person (at least in Germany) pushing the idea that music equipment should not be seen as HiFi or even High End but as Art and therefore be charged as such, completely independent of regular calculation or value. Because of this some reviewers and at least one magazine (I know of) refused to report about his gear and he and his products had this "special reputation". Somehow some things are not forgotten easily I guess.

Jay, like you, I love to see and hear hifi equipment that makes me drool! I know I’ll never be able to afford getting, but it makes the little kid in me very happy.😊

Great video Jay. Always good to experience super high end stuff to know what is possible. I directly compared Burmester to D’Agostino amps for my Wilson speakers. I found the Burmester slightly veiled and lacking vitality in comparison. Also, I think the D’Ag gear is way prettier and more interesting to look at. So I went with D’Agostino. Still, Burmester is an amazing company and the video is super informative. Thanks.

My legendary system would be an open baffle with 2 inch milled dual live edge 8 or 9 ft tall baffles hardwood or old growth pine or fir, WITH 4 or 6 full range 12 inch speakers run in series or parallel, all running on an otl fully transformerless 4x300b per channel amplifier with no feedback. Mounted to the back of each baffle. Aux connection for input would be 3.5mm standardized. Simple to make, massive, looks like a tree cross section with the base and the bark. Brass hardware, brass bracket on rear for tilting back and aiming with precision and brass for the looks and forever aspect, no cost concern there brass is actually cheap and easy. HIGH quality tubes like elrog er300b. Just sheer talent and perfection and badassness aspect, as that is the way of the tube. The speakers would all just match and run at very low power levels and can be possibly aimed or tuned with just shims on the baffle. All soldered solid core copper, silver soldered connections ideal but really not too bad overall either method, for servicability and timeless construction technique. Paper cone speakers whizzer cones, high strength magnets and very free suspension, very high sensitivity with low end responce curves. The thing would be loud as can be on 1 or 2 watts, and more power if wanted.

Great review Jay! I acquired a Burmester 082 integrated amp earlier this year, after moving from a full Naim 500/552 stack. Burmester is a great brand and the build and engineering quality of their electronics is next level.

This is the high horology equivalent in the audio world. While the sound quality itself may not surpass that of a system costing a fraction of the price, it stands apart in aesthetics and craftsmanship, delivering a look and feel that’s undeniably exceptional. Having experienced crappy audio systems in Porsches in the past it did make me smile a little that they are partnering with Porsche. However, I do know Porsches now are far nicer than Porsches from yesteryear.

They sound majestic but the design with big logo, big shiny boxes is too industrial for my liking. The quality of execution and the amount of technology, research and development behind them is indeed impressive. When I will own a castel with big rooms and private chefs and play boy baristas I may buy one system from them.
