Maajid is fence-sitting, and Douglas is being diplomatic. We’ve been having this conversation since the Rushdie fatwa. Nobody wants to say it on TV. True Islam is radical Islam.

There’s nothing more frustrating than seeing someone like Maajid sitting there laughing and intellectualising the damage his absolutist religion is doing and has done to our country and the west on mass, all because he refuses to put down childish things while he makes a living from it, it’s disgusting. If you still think so called “moderates” have any place in this discussion, ask yourself, if there is conflict between them and “Islamists” or “fundamentalists”, when the dust settles, who do you think will be left standing on the battlefield we once called our home?

Gaza is not the only atrocious war now raging. Why is there no high-minded student protest against the ongoing genocide against the Rohingya? Or in Darfur? Estimates: 13,700 to 40,000 for the first; 98,000 to 500,000 for the second. The Rohingya are Muslims. Is Islamophobia involved in the silence of the students? Darfur is in Africa, hence its inhabitants are dark-skinned. So is racism involved in the silence of the students? My least inflammatory diagnosis is that humans tend to be indifferent to atrocities committed upon small distant groups without money. My critique is of the species.

Your Comment is worthy of deeper debate. I agree that we should be looking at world wide problems from a human perspective. What is it about humans that make us pick and choose which cause we consider important and ignore others

Emmmm , maybe because western countries aren't blatantly funding these wars ? When students on campus protest it is not isreal actian they are protesting it's their collage compliance in these action .
