In this presentation several electronic concepts are developed in connection with the TCON board in a TFT LCD TV and the operation of the gate driver. The electronic content of this chip is detailed. Thus we find a bi-directional shift register, a level shifter, a voltage follower and logic gates including NAND. The operation of this assembly requires various voltages either in logic form such as the CPV, CKV, CKVB, STV, STVP, OE, XAO, R/L, U/D signal, or in analog voltage form such as VGH and VGL.

I think that CKV signal is NOT the same as VGH odd/even or LC 1/2. CKV is a Square wave (eg 30kHz) whilst the latter two are simply DC voltages pulsing alternately on very low frequency like every 3 seconds so DON'T CONFUSE

This is the best video on KZbin ever but there are a few technical points I still misunderstand. If clocking signals (CKV) are responsible for scanning particular segments of the matrix (plus odd/even lines how do we explain the scenarios in which e.g. we have the image of the object falling from the sky. From your video I understand that these clocking signals are only scanning (switching the TFTs) of entire display roughly at the same time (left to right or right to left, It doesnt matter here) so how do we achieve the image of say a bouncing ball if we the shift register turns turns the odd lines to on and off sequentially which translates to the same on the TFT Gate, do you understand what I mean?

the execution speed of the gate and source driver is of the order of nano seconds. The animations in the videos are just an illustration of the operating mode not at the real speed.
@zbyszekskibinski
@zbyszekskibinski 2 жыл бұрын
@@elearningélectronique Oh I know that but say you have the image that is refreshed 60 times per second (60Hz) and on the screen a person kicking the ball. The ball is going up which corresponds to the thousands of frames being refreshed and displayed. How then the object ( here: the ball) can be shown as moving upwards if the horizontal scan is only switched on and off ( the entire screen) It can be eiher 1 or 0 on full screen. Its binary and sequential. This doesnt allow for random switching up progressively so the pixels are switched on higher (according to the position of the object in the screen moving on upward motion) I hope It makes sense to you I can't explicate It in more detail. But overall, you are making TOP videos Sir. You are the best

How STV signal is distributed between gate drivers? I see that STV signal goes into first COF chip. But what happens next? Is it modified by the first chip before it arrives to the second chip? Is it connected to all COF chips in parallel?
@elearningélectronique
@elearningélectronique 2 жыл бұрын
The COF chips being of the same model, it works in the same way but one after the other because these chips are placed in cascade, in other words in series. So the STV signal is first transmitted to the first COF then arrives at the second COF and so on.
@bzdzgwa

@@elearningélectronique So in order to fix missing STV i have to connect it to the first COF driver only. I cannot connect it to 2nd od 3rd driver, correct?

Animation to show image retention. 4. Basics of Flip flops, Level shifter, signal deformation due to parasitic effect & last XAO signal enables based on Voltage comparator. 5. very important to learn, it comes from the very basic of seven segment digital display, the shift register that most led tv technician ignore or dont really understand since they can repair most of the problem by blocking or cutting one side connection that disturb t-con voltages and signals when panel is faulty.
