Maybe it's me but I've tried to figure out why am I so obsessed with Olitz and Terry. I finally figured it out, Fitz moved mountains to be with Olivia and Tony is very outwardly expressive about his feelings for Kerry and this type of affection is rarely showcased as the norm for women, especially black women. I love to hear Tony talk about Kerry, even if it's just on a "friendly" level. Could you imagine having a "friend" like Tony, that gushes over your mere existence.

I just started watching Scandal clips in the last week. I watched two episodes when it originally aired but it did not click for me. I missed a lot! I have also struggled with why this relationship is so impactful. I agree with you "rarely are Black Women shown simple affection or romanticized." In the Fitz and Olivia chemistry, you have drama, respect, friendship and love. Too much drama but this is tv so that is to be expected but I really enjoyed the "One Minute quiet time" and the "working together times" in the Fitz and Olivia relationship. And of course the sex scenes were hot! LOL! Would love to have a friend or partner who gushes over me such as "Olitz" or Kerry and Tony's friendship. Thanks.

I also believe that's why Kerry Washington got married so fast and popped out those babies, it would have not been a good look for her and possibly could have ruined her career. TG was at a stage in his life/career when some men stray. It maybe a midlife crises 4 him with a younger, beautiful woman. Who knows? Only he does. It's nothing new, it happens all the time. Both men & women experience it. Certain things in him he may have thought had died. Well guess what? KW woke up whatever he thought had died. TG enjoyed the Wake Up Call. !!! Wow!!! It doesn't change the fact that they r both excellent actors, highly skilled in their profession/craft. During the process TG acquired a new fan base thanks 2 SR & KW. Not just a US fan base but now he has an international fan base. TG has been an actor 4a long time. KW bought out a real sense of his creativity that had always been there. She helped him showcase it much better than any of his other costars did in my view in the earlier years. He respected her talent. He knew of her as he had met her b4 during their interaction in the Creative Coalition mtgs & in their pursuit of social advocacy. But he didn't really know her until they worked 2gether in SR tv series Scandal. It was only then he developed a real respect 4 her talent, smarts, intelligence, beauty, poise, grace & skill in her craft. Almost every1 KW acts with in a movie or tv show is nominated 4 some kind of an award. She has not be awarded adequately 4 her skill & talents in the industry. Imo

It is safe to say that Shonda is a massive Sex in the City fan. She repurposed a few of their scenes. At 00:45 Is Olivia's version of what Carrie said to Alexander Petrovsky in the finale of SitC. You also have the way that Shonda had them edit the sex scenes. When it comes to Olitz, the sex scenes are a collection of super quick cuts like when Carrie and Big had the affair. Olitz electrical closet sex scene is the Carrie/Big elevator scene but modernized so that the issue of consent isn't a problem. WOW I hadn't seen all of that clip that was at the end before. I only ever saw Tony say that he refused to e out of her life. I never saw that it continued and he teared up. That's so sweet.

Why would you hope that? These actors were true professionals, are happily married to their significant others. Tony met his wife at age 21 and she was 27. The have been married since 1987, but together for 41 years. That, to me, speaks volumes. No scandals reported, he is always seen with family. Kerry married Namdi in 2013 and they have 2 children together.

Kerry Washington 💋 is great actress in this role. They could have look for years l believe they couldn't have found a better performer than her.her and Tony Goldwyn was made for these parts. I often thought that if neither Tony and Kerry were married, they would have been a couple. Tony put some space between the two families after the show. Kerry's main residence is on the West coast, and Tony and family lives on the East coast. The chemistry between the two was not imaginary. I often sensed that Kerry's husband was not really happy about those explosive love scenes between the two, and at some point it appeared that they toned them down a bit.
