What does it take to put on a concert at U.S. Bank Stadium?

Heavy metal fans had a roaring good time over the weekend as Metallica performed two shows at U.S. Bank Stadium. The M-72 World Tour is an incredible production with more moving parts than you can imagine. So, what does it take put on a major concert? Good Question. Jeff Wagner got a behind-the-scenes look at the massive effort that had downtown rockin'.

I truly love and adore concert production videos like this that show the various different types of efforts to put something like this on. There is something extraordinarily beautiful about seeing a concert stage (whoever the band may be) inside of an arena or outdoor football/baseball stadium. Each facility has its own unique look and layout. Each one is so different. I saw Metallica and Guns N' Roses at the Pasadena Rose Bowl on October 3, 1992 and it was mind boggling how great of structure that concert stage was. I also Metallica at the Ontario Citizens Arena and Inglewood Forum in late 2008 and that was also amazing. Then GNR in summer of 1991 Inglewood Forum and summer 2016 Dodgers Stadium. This M-72 World Tour is light years beyond all of that. It is amazing how far concert production has come and to see Metallica STILL bulldozing and especially with this massive and beautiful looking of a concert stage AND with Pantera is beyond words. ok, sorry for the ramble. Hard rock and metal, recorded and live are some of the few things in this life that truly make me happy. I hope for anyone out there too.

I've never felt the rush and excitement for another band like Metallica. It's because their performance and stage setups are absolutely insane! I've seen them 11 times now, and in my last two, I was in the Snakepit! When they start playing Ecstasy of Gold, it can make a grown man tear up!

Your ears deceive you. It’s not my opinion, it’s scientific fact based on how acoustic sound waves travel and bounce off of solid material. Pretty basic science. But if you missed the boat, I don’t know what to tell you. Don’t take my word for it. Ask a sound engineer.

hard work for the crew of any band Pink Floyd in 94 had Three stages leapfrogged around North America and Europe 300-speaker quadraphonic sound system There are 200 crew on The Division Bell tour, and 49 trucks - 33 of them for steel alone, for there are 700 tons of steel used for the show, which it takes three days to set up. It takes 18 hours to erect the stage - its shaped like the Hollywood Bowl, a sort of semi-circular half-shell, 187 feet wide and 55 feet high - and seven hours to break it down again afterwards. It takes two days to break down the steel. There are eight tour buses and one private plane. There are eight caterers on the tour; they cook dinner for 220 people on show nights . They’ve baked 20 loaves of bread, got through 400 pints of milk, 1,000 eggs, 1,200 tea bags, 1,000 cans of soft drinks, 25 boxes of cornflakes and two boxes of Romaine lettuce - this last for the Floyds favourite Caesar salad, apparently. Special supplies of Marmite, Weetabix, Branston Pickle, marmalade, English mustard and Earl Grey tea-bags are to be shipped out from England at regular intervals.

That’s nothing compared to their 2016 Super Bowl: The Night Before at AT&T stadium in their hometown San Francisco. I was fortunate enough to be there. There was skywriting, lowrider show outside, choppers streaming the show online, fireworks. Unforgettable experience

AT&T stadium is in Arlington TX, Levi stadium is in bay area (Santa Clara) and halftime show in Levi in 2016 was Bruno Mars ( I worked it)

I disagree. Metallica doesn't need all the fancy flame/firework stuff. A bit is enough. They let theyre music do the talking and still keep people entertained. When i go to see a band, i want to enjoy the music and see the musicians play and connecting with audience.......and enjoy the music.....Yeah its a cool stage of rammstein, but those flame towers......it gets boring after you seen them light up a few times. ive seen them a few times, was good. But i prefer the metallica stage. Fans can get up very close with the artists very easily with this stage in the round from in and outside. there is a lot of meters front row because in the round , in and outside, so fans can see artist up close.. Thats COOL! Be close with artists, look m in the eyes. Its more about the musicians and connecting with the fans instead of a fancy show with al kinds of gimmicks. (which is cool too). Metallica shows are more about the music and connection, rammstein more about the 'show', and pyrotechnics (which you see at every band these days....boring :-)). its not a contest, its just a different show and experience. I prefer the metallica one, but theyre both great events to attend

Bob Dylan had people lined up for over a mile for ticket's in London in 1966. And then many booed and walked out. He transitioned from filk music to Rock. Upsetting everyone! The Beatles were absolutely blown away. Fearless! No pyro. No lazer light show. ONLY an AMERICAN FLAG! As a back drop. Even John Lennon was humbled. Bob Dylan said. Bob Dylan is from Minnesota. But escaped to New York. There....he was recognized. Not for his voice. Which can peel wallpaper. But because of the songs. Signed to Columbia record's. Other artists began recording his songs. Jimi Hendrix for example was a HUGE Bob Dylan fan. All along the watch tower..Manford man.. Quint the Eskimo. Was a great song. Blowing in the Wind was widely recorded by lots of people. Love is just a 4 letter word. By Joan Biaz. Written in hour. Here ..sing this.

People think all the time that bands make a lot of money playing shows, but the reality is that a lot of the people around it also has to get paid. So in the end, the band will probably only make a few hundred dollars.
