The only critique has been the games are close for no reason & the defense has to play 100% all the time when all he needs to do is make throws to his star receivers instead of taking sacks & throwing the ball away unnecessarily. Give your star players a chance. We could’ve invested more money into defense or elsewhere if we were going to treat AJ Brown & Smitty like 3rd stringers on a consistent basis & the defense always has to ball out for us to win. That’s it. Yes winning is all that matters, but the games don’t need to be this close. Yall take late quarter scores, when the games are mostly 10 points or less difference the majority of the game as an indicator that we blew teams out all year & that’s not the case. Yes, winning is all that ultimately matters, but our 250+ million dollar QB shouldn’t need 5+ yards of separation to complete a pass every time he throws it or else he takes a sack. At some point, playing that way might catch up to us & even our elite defense won’t be enough to win those games. That’s all we’re saying. Yes, Hurts is a good QB, but just not turning the ball over shouldn’t be the only metric he’s judged by. Teams lose not turning the ball more often than you think.

The most frustrating part of this conversation is that they didn't talk at all about the coaching aspect of the issue. Jalen is doing what his coaches are telling him and clearly not designing plays to get receivers in positions where jalen would be throwing more frequently. The only excuse for that would be not opening your playbook up until you need to given the ability to win by leaning on D. But if that's the case we better start seeing those plays called differently as the playoffs advance and opposing offense gets harder to stop.
