Id encourage you to grow in faith in the Lord, it's not just a hope but faith in Jesus. Saying you hope of it, rather than having faith you're saved are different. I have basically committed every sin in the Bible. When you walk with Jesus, signs that you're going in the right direction- people will avoid you obliviously and they can't even look at you at times if they are not right with the Lord, and it's out of no reason. Like a grocery store manager facing the wall and not you and struggling to just say have a nice day when you just have gone and bought a few groceries. That's just an example. And keep in mind that after you have been saved, you can still fall back to old sin or gain new sin. So it's good to check your heart daily and lay your life down daily. Repentance is not a one time action within a lifetime. Things changed for me more when I made it a daily habit. A question I've started asking myself is asking myself is this glorifying and edifying to the Lord or is it to glorify me? I'm not even close to perfect and I choose my own will still daily but I'm working on it. I hope any of this helps you in your walk with Jesus!

I'm glad to hear and it sounds in a way that the Lord rescued you sometime later in life since you grew up in the church like I did. It's awesome how the Lord leaves the 99 to come after us when we lose sight of him and get wrapped up in our own sin. I heard this recently and it encouraged me so I want to encourage you as well. When the faithful disciples messed up, they sought out the Lord pretty quickly but what did Judas do after betraying Jesus? It's interesting that Judas never really sought out Jesus but instead decided to run away and it allowed the enemy complete control to mess with his mind and cause him to lose his mind and kill himself. It's interesting looking at how Judas responded after betrayal and I wanted to encourage you, when you mess up and feel like you betrayed the Lord, don't be like Judas, don't give the enemy room to continue shaming you. Run to Jesus, ask for forgiveness and praise him for his goodness. I hope this helps. Happy dad day!

Pride is one of the biggest sins. The sin that put Jesus on the cross. We are nothing and can do nothing without God's help. The new age church teaches self betterment, but the Bible teaches that I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me. Our righteousness is like filthy rags compared to Jesus. You know when I 1st saw the Photo of Jesus. It looked to me for a moment Jesus was looking to his Left, my Right. Then I read the statement. The as of at that moment he turned to me to take notice. I saw this happen right before me. I began to Speak and Pray to him and REPENT and speak of my sins. The Lord knows me by name and my sins. My first dream about Jesus was so scary. I dont remember much because i didnt write it . But i remember that i was on the cloud, meeting the Lord . You and I are bit of only a few who don’t rip Matthew 7:21-23 out of context. You’re exactly on point, yet I’ll go one step further by adding that verse 15 tells us it was the false prophets of Jesus’ day to whom he was speaking to. Matthew 7:21-23 are three of the most abused, misused, and out of context verses in the entire Bible. Christ tells us in verse 15 which comes before verses 21-23 who he is talking about… 15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Verses 21-23 are not about believers, believers who strayed, believers without the right kind of faith, believers losing their salvation, or any such thing. The verses are about the ‘false prophets’ of that day. Verse 22 bears this out again, when it says “did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles ?” Again, the verses in context are about those false teachers of that time.

Every believer is exactly where he's supposed to be in his walk with God. We are not commanded to compare our state with anyone elses alleged successes in their walk. The Lord will finish the good work He began in each believer in His own good time. The group that Jesus spoke of in Matt 7 knew exactly how they were living their lives and seeking their own fame and glory in performing healings and miracles. Yes and we also have to see what's the "know/knew" in this verse: "And then will I profess unto them, I never **knew** you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:23) And hereby we do know that **we know Him, if we keep His commandments.** He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4)

@@theneverending9319 John first paraphrases Deuteronomy 18:18-19 (everyone must hear and obey the Prophet to come) and names The Prophet, and then paraphrases Leviticus 19:18 (thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself). So in 1 John 2, by truly keeping all the Father's commandments, you have kept 1 John 3:23 (believe in the name of His Son The Prophet, our Savior). Check out Deuteronomy 18:18-19...
