This is what happens when you modify a car for looks instead of function. 255 tire can support a 400HP car very easily. There is no need for a tire like that. Its all about show. Even with added power a 225-235 tire will provide all the grip you need. Which also means you can make those rims a full inch more narrow. That solves every fitment problem shown. I get the desire for monster tires, but most people dont realize in many situations it makes you slower. But to each their own.

Agree , but I believe these TE37 are lighter than stock - Stay tuned for the BRZ video with the 18x8.5 Titan-7 TS-5 Rims - This is the proper fitment for this car, This video was for information to share what will happen and make the new owners aware. I agree with you a lot of ppl will run then for the looks, the Concavity of 9.5 always look nice. Thanks for your comment

camber bolts and going with a slight stretch up front (245/35) on 18x9.5s helps but still doesn't totally remedy rubbing if you're say pushing through a U-turn for example or hitting a tight hairpin turn, even with coilover dampening set at max hard and 8k spring rate. like he said though, that's just life if you wanna run these size wheels on these cars and have no wheel gap

Correct... There are a lot of Factors, We could add even more Camber up front with a Bolt if you see the front was Maxed out on the top hat in the front. This was just an example and to show what can happen, in future vids we will add all the control arms to adjust things as needed. Ever situation will be different , it will be based on tire size, camber, ride height and even dampening adjustments. The BRZ is lowered but not super aggressive and we run the 18x8.5 Titan TS-5 +40 offset and a lot of these issues are gone.

I'd like to see (and hear) the ARK DTS on the GR86: I'm planning to buy and mod one. I prefer the lower pitch, grumbly "grown-up" sound of exhausts like that, or maybe the Corsa, without ANY droning or raspy issues, even if they're not too loud-leave that to the kids. But some I've looked at, with double mufflers, resonators or whatever drop too low right around the axle and there could be clearance issues (apart from looking goofy). Also, I really like the widest, 4.5" tips. What would you recommend, and could you try some out for us? Thanks.

In Japan, i see most guys doing 17x9 +35 RPF1's (15lbs) and 255/40/17 with lower and upper arms with serious negative camber upfront on the coilovers. No cutting. perfect fitment with no mods is 18x8.5 +40 with 245/35/18. 18x9.5 +38 with 255/35 tire is too much for this car.

@@86Speed Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of after watching this video now. I’ve seen it on the 1st gen and it’s not anything some camber can’t fix. However, since the 2nd gen has a slightly wider track I’m afraid it’ll be too much poke and I’ll have to give it excessive camber to tuck the top into the fender.

Any insights on Rays 57CR 17x9 +38? I find 18's too big. Love the 57's. Planning to run them - hopefully on the BRZ. I hope Rays will offer more conservative fitments for the gen 2 if gen 1 specific wheels causes an issue. I do plan to run coilovers, RLCA's and toe-arms Thanks Danny

@@r6mt09 I don't suspect a 17 X 9 being an issue - perhaps offset may play a role Perhaps with come down to tire choice since not all tire widths are the same - unfortunately. May try a 245/40/17. I've seen folks run similar fitment for track use.

I don't get 245+ 8"+ sizes. I wide bodied my nissan sentra specV with 8s 235 and 20mm spacers and sure it handles like a champ but that a lot of exra weight. When my BRZ comes in 7.5-8" on 225s itll give me enough grip and will keep mass off the wheels

Why are you explaining what previous parts don’t fit? Why would anything from the prior gen fit? Did you think it was a facelift? The whole car is noticeably different and a normal person would know that without trying them lol. It’s a brand new car. Also it’s not helpful to just say 18x9.5 et41 is too big. You’ve run three sets of wheels it would be more helpful to say if you don’t want rubbing get a size under: xxxxx

What's the point of TE37 wheels if you don't buy the actual forged ones. This car is slow, it needs further weight reduction to push power to weight ratio where it should've been from factory, where people begged them for 8 years to push it in the next generation and they ignored it to bolster WRX/Supra sales.

86 & BRZ have different DRL headlights! the BRZs comes in and curves near the top of the headlight housing while the 86s doesn’t.

Some questions I would like to hear an answer to in future videos are: - what's the widest tire you can put on the new GR86 (with some modest lowering and only little camber) that avoid rubbing or damaging the car, - what's the ideal offset for the different wheel widths, - is it possible to change a GR86 to a BRZ completely (and vice-versa), including software-specific things like the start-up symbol (asking for Europeans who can only buy the GR86)
