These videos are a great idea Dan! Short but clearly to the point about what these oils smell like. As a suggestion... have you through about adding 15 seconds to cover some examples of fragrances that use these oils?

@WildDoveX There are different varieties of oakmoss...oils can get tricky. I'm just trying to do my little bit to help out :-)

Enjoying this note vid series!! I've never smelled straight oakmoss, but the description for this one doesn't fit my experience of vintage frags that have prominent oakmoss in the base. I've been very much an oakmoss fan over the years, beginning around 1967. It's possible that oakmoss changes its character entirely by being combined with other common basenotes or other notes??

@Kerosenetrewthe Yes, that's the real oakmoss. Since Mitsouko, which has a lot of oakmoss, has been reformulated with synthetic oakmoss, I've heard it's still pretty good, not a lot of complaints, and the frag community is regularly grieving vintage formulations/ingredients. I haven't sniffed the reformulation though.
