My funniest queer moment was when I was talking to my dad about how he knew i was gay and his response was that when Camp Rock came out, all of my friends were obsessed with the Jonas Brothers and I was really, and i mean really, into Demi Lovato

*Kira Moseley* Yes, it is good to mention *asexuals/aromantics* , but as they are rather rare, no offence 🏳️😉, not as rare as *intersex (hermaphrodites)* though, I don't get it why the much more common *polysexuals/polyromantics* (lesbians and hetero men who are also attracted to trans women and intersex women, and gays and hetero women who are also attracted to trans men and intersex men) and especially the nowadays quite common *pansexuals/panromantics* (all genders), not as common as bisexuals though, are almost never mentioned in the LGBT acronym ⁉️ 🤔 Instead the Q for queer is a pleonasm and therefore unnecessary as it is an umbrella term for LGBT+ anyway. So *LGBTIPPA* would be the correct and all-including description for the queer community in my opinion, right? 🏳️‍🌈 P.S. You are proud to be asexual AND aromantic? Doesn't it make someone rather lonely, unhappy and maybe even depressive to *neither* have any sex and masturbation *nor* any romantic feelings/partner - are platonic friends and acquaintances really enough and satisfying?!
@LucyMeadows
@LucyMeadows 7 жыл бұрын
Rainbow Warrior Princess Why are you questioning Kira feeling proud? It doesn't seem very supportive of you. Also if there is no sexual/romantic need or desire in the first place then platonic friendship is enough.
@Rainbow_Warrior_Princess
@Rainbow_Warrior_Princess 7 жыл бұрын
*Lucy Meadows* I just can't understand (and honestly also can't believe) it when someone is satisfied/happy or even proud to be asexual AND aromantic, maybe due to being a victim of mobbing/bullying by both females and males and because of that developed misanthropy and/or contact shyness, I don't know, I would like to hear the reason(s). I have no problem to understand people who are either asexual OR aromantic, but both?! To sleep in a bed alone every night (eventually except for sleepovers/slumber parties with other girls/women in her case), and only able to have conservations with others when friends or acquaintances are visiting or when going out to public places or when talking by phone/Skype. I can only imagine her to be proud and happy about her sexual and romantic orientation, when she has a *very good and close* female friend (BFF) who hopefully doesn't live too far away so that she can often come to visit her and talk, watch movies or play games together, etc. or going on vacations together or to the cinema, theater, restaurants, go shopping, promenade in the city, go into nature/forest to hike or just go for a walk there or for jogging, doing sports, etc. Otherwise I would feel very sorry and sad for this asexual and aromantic person (unless she is a convinced hermit) if she doesn't (yet) have such a close platonic girlfriend (or boyfriend, but I think as a female a female BFF would be more relatable and fitting, especially for girl related talk and issues/problems). However I wish her all the best and to be happy! 💟
@JustinBieber4eva002
@JustinBieber4eva002 7 жыл бұрын
*Rainbow Warrior Princess* This is probably an essay type reply which I apologise for but it was needed. Yes, I am aromantic AND asexual and I am so proud of who I am and I really wouldn’t want to change a thing about my sexuality. Being asexual and aromantic doesn't come from being bullied. It is a sexuality. Just like anyone who likes the same sex, that doesn’t mean that they were bullied by people of the opposite sex, so I don’t see how that is relevant to someone who doesn’t want to have sexual or a romantic relationship. For your argument of being both ace and aro and sleeping alone at night, I am perfectly fine with being alone in my bed; I’m not crying in my room at night because of not having anyone to share it with. I enjoy having my bed all to myself because all I’m doing is going to sleep and I can manage that by myself. Yes, I have a best friend and she is amazing but even if I didn’t have such a close relationship with her, I imagine I still wouldn’t be pining about my loveless and sexless life because I don’t care for it. I don’t need it; therefore, I don’t miss it. I am proud to be both asexual and aromantic and I hope that there are people out there who are also proud to be both and not ashamed to only admit one without the other due to some unfortunate people who do not understand that there is nothing wrong with being both and being out and proud about it. Also, we don’t need a BFF to help us feel happy and proud about not wanting a romantic or sexual partner. I know that I felt like I didn’t want to date when I was growing up and I didn’t even know my best friend at that point in time but I was still proud to know the fact that I didn’t want to date anyone and I was perfectly fine with the idea that I wasn’t going to date anyone. I was still proud of who I was and I didn’t have a best friend to talk to and yet, I wasn’t lonely. I didn’t go out to the cinema, shopping or exercising with “a very good and close female friend” and yet, I was still happy and proud. Just because I didn’t want a sexual or romantic partner and that I didn’t have a close best friend, didn’t mean that I was sad because of who I am. I was never upset to find out that I am asexual and aromantic, I was quite pleased. So, yes, I am happy, proud and so very satisfied to be both, aromantic and asexual and there is nothing wrong with that.

I'm so glad you felt comfortable to share your experiences with us. Is always good to know these stories especially for young people who maybe still trying figure out who they are. Despite many countries (including mine), people still have fears to say out loud how proud they're, due so much violence around them. Hearing these stories like yours and know that there're people and places that accept and respect LGBT+ comunnity warms my heart.

Dear aces/asexuals, I know pride month can be a bit scary for us as we get really horrible messages and things from LGBT people who don't feel comfortable with us in the community. Please remember that there are so many of us who care for you! Don't mean to divert attention. I just want that said. Please like this comment if you're ace or if you support aces!! Make sure aces know they've got people who care!

Great video!! This truly made me smile, which has been hard to do for the past few days. Pride means bravery, to me. It takes a lot of bravery to stand up for yourself, be who you are, and lose people along the way. Sadly, that comes with the territory. Natasha, I don't think I really have any questions. I just want to say thank you for all you do in the community. It's so important to have people like you being open and honest these days, and I'm proud to be in a community that is so strong!! I hope you're doing well, having fun filming, and having a great Pride Month!!

The Pride Parade in Poland yesterday was the biggest ever (despite our conservative government) and I am so happy that so much is changing. Because everybody has a right to live a full happy peaceful life, whatever they identify or not identify as, without being ashamed of who they are. And just realizing that and treating each other with respect and inclusiveness can make a huge step for humanity. So thank you Natasha for being a part of that beautiful movement and for standing out and making a difference :)

Hey Natasha! The first time I ever heard of you was actually this random interview I stumbled upon. I never even heard of carmilla before that, but the way you described your sexuality there and on this video is the only time I've ever been able to relate to anyone! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you so much for sharing. By being able to relate to someone's experience being similar to my own, I don't feel that pressure to have a label and I feel like it's relieved this unnecessary anxiety I had. I am so proud to be a part of this community 🏳️‍🌈 So excited to see the movie, wishing you only the best. Sending you love always! ❤️

Carmilla started about 3 years ago, eh? I don't think i joined the Carmilla train until about 2 years ago, but either way, Carmilla and subsequently Natasha's presence on KindaTV has been huge for me personally. I know I'm not the only human on this planet who has been affected by such things, but if I could just casually add myself to the list of people whom Natasha, Elise, Caitlyn, Annie, et all have helped in the first steps toward coming out of the closet... I still have steps to go, but I feel embolden every time I watch new eps of Carmilla; new eps on the Gay Women's Channel; and new eps on KindaTV. Just to hear another person say "I'm not straight," is a hugely and importantly relatable thing to me. Thanks you!

This makes me happy and I am so so happy that younger people now have some material to help them figure out who they are. I grew up in a small town in Texas (the population was maybe 8,000 at the time) and had no one to talk to about my sexuality and had no representation in anything I read or watched. I am so thankful for KindaTv and Natasha and everyone who works on this channel for giving a voice to our community. It's inspiring and makes me want to reach my goal of becoming a published writer with more lgbtq+ representation.

Oh my god you literally just said the way I feel and word for word explains how I've told myself.... I've always felt like I had to say I'm straight because where I am and how i 'behave' everyone thinks I'm a lesbian... but I'm not I hate labels and I've never comfortable saying I'm this or I'm that... I just want to be me and accept who I am and the fact I don't like either boys or girls, I just like people. Because that's all we truly are is people.... why should what gender we care for matter... Thank you so much for making this, so well said 🙏🏽 When I was around 13 I decided I wouldn't ever label myself unless I was 100% comfortable, now I'm 20 and I still stick with it I don't comprehend how people can say "oh I am straight/gay/whatever" bc who knows, one day you might fall in love with someone who is outside of your little box, would you just let it go? ... I truly hope not ❤️

I feel really lucky that I'm living in the same generation as Natasha, to have her voicing out on these issues and making good representations on-screen. It's really important for the younger generations to know that it's really not a big deal if you're queer. Love is love. Back then, and even now, these issues were either hidden or avoided, especially living in Asian countries where LGBTQ+ content were strictly cut off, so I was not exposed to any of these, and it's not until I was in my last year of elementary school, I was in love with my best friend and that was when I realized I was "different" from the rest of my friends, and this love continued to my highschool for a few years. It took me a long time to try accepting myself as who I am because I have no idea how to do it, even now, I'm still trying, and seeing queer characters on-screen gives me comfort, I'm able to relate and it makes me feel not so alone. I've not watched a lot of LGBTQ+ movies or series, and this is exactly why #Carmilla is so important to me. Queer characters with happy ending? That is so rare and it gives hope to LGBTQ+ viewers, including me. I'm thankful, I'm grateful, that I have a chance to watch Carmilla, to see characters representing me, a lesbian, having a good ending. My life, ain't so bad afterall. Sincerely, I thank all the crews, the casts, the producers, of the Carmilla series/movie for giving us such good representations.

Natasha sorry if you felt pressured to put a label to your sexuality because of us, but know that you are making such a difference in our life, before shows like Carmilla we did not get many representation in media and being queer was something abnormal, but now thanks to people like you we can see it as a beautiful thing to be proud of. Again thank you for your voice and your presence in our life ❤
