If it's true the Tigers have fully embraced analytics, then they also understand that there is no such thing as "luck". I agree with Mark, you make your team better,. You don't see the best teams laying back, counting on health and the wish that their team will be better. You fix the holes in your lineup to BE better.

I think Evan has a good point with expanding Wencils defensive positions. Id like to see him as a super utility fielder. He does a lot of good things with his legs & bat. I think the Tigers would benefit with him given more playing time.

Aside from Vlad Jr, next year's free agent class is nearly void of good RH hitters. There are no RH bats coming up from the farm system any time soon either. I say give Bregman $30,000,000 over 7 years ($210,000,000 total) and let's go win our first WS title since 1984!
