I'm actually surprised that engine is a wet sump system. Just goes to show you dont need the absolute best of everything and most expensive setups to go fast. Thanks for sharing guys!!
@RadDadisRad
@RadDadisRad 4 жыл бұрын
Dry sump is application specific. It’ll help lower the motor in the chassis. Wet sump can provide volume and the oil only goes one way in the pan from racing so they know where the pickup tube needs to go along with baffles. It makes servicing much easier too.

You said to check the torque on the head bolts. Do you break them loose and then retorque them, or just torque to check? If you are breaking them loose, is that good to do (I imagine so since you are doing it) as I always hear the newer stuff is one time torque. I am old school still and I run them in and out all the time with no issues.

Nice to see someone that actually knows what there doing when it comes to servicing there engine, especially gapping the valves and checking them although if I were you I would run Castrol GTX I think that looked like purple I don’t know if that’s any good but most big time NHRA racers all run castrol even if there sponsored by penzoil, if you really want boost go supercharger you only lose 50HP total and you have all your boost from the line on down to the big end, like the NoS guys there driving 1/4 million dollar cars why are they not running a 16-71 blowers makes no sense then they gripe about not being able to catch up with the boosted cars they want a NoS only pro mod class in NHRA for them cause they say its not fair to have them in with the two turbo and supers cause there not as fast ( most of them just don’t know how to drive is the problem ) or so they whine
