Salam, I would like to perhaps add a more in-depth analysis of this topic as obviously it seems that there is a great deal of confusion between the terms capitalism/liberalism/individualism. Capitalism is putting in common resources in order to create a company that will create wealth and generate salaries/wages for the workers/employees and this is a very healthy idea in the sense that it takes out people from extreme poverty and I think that its easy that from a wealthy country like UK saying that we should not get attached to things but go try to promote that in third world countries and you will see that this is non-sense. I think we would gain into our conception of the world if we put the concept properly instead of mixing religion and economical theories, because at the end of the day if muslim countries don't develop and gives enough economical resources and innovation to their population they will carry on bleeding of their creative and entrepreneurial strenght that will immigrate to more advanced countries where they could make use of it. And will be kept into this insidious loop of revengeful mentality of its the 'West' fault if we are behind the rest of the nations.

The capitalism being practiced by the US and UK is far from the capitalism you are describing. If the aim of the companies that were set up was to help workers to have access to wealth instead of exploiting them for cheap labour as the neo-liberal agenda that has been unleased is doing, you would not have 6 families controlling as much wealth as 50% of the population in the US. The capitalism that is being applied currently is completely inadequate in solving the problem of raising standard of living for the majority as can be seen by the continuous bail outs and socialist support of the banks and various large corporations by the Governments. However, the main people who benefit from these bail outs are the heads of corporations and their shareholders, who are mostly a small rich group of citizens. So spirituality is directly linked to the corrupt capitalist system that exists in the West. One cannot elevate their spiritual position by supporting this system of oppression and injustice, it saps away at the soul.
