Ubisoft makes a lot of whack games and now theyre kinda hiding behind race to defend from legitimate criticisms. I also think a lot of AC fans are kinda upset that theyve wanted to play as an asian character in a mainline game for ages and now that they finally get it the game is split and heavily focused on a black samurai instead. Not like theyve done that with any of the other main games for the most part. The main character is pretty much always from that country

Not sure who the main character youre talking about is unless youre talking about AC shadows which hasnt released yet so its odd to count it. Arent peoples complaints about Shadows the fact that the Asian character doesnt even get to be the MAIN protagonist and shares the game with a non-Asian character? Either way im not sure what your point is meant to be? Is it supposed to be a gender debate now somehow?

While simultaneously enjoying that white protagonist Japanese game (that I don't currently remember its name) and shogun. It takes away from the fact that western media tend to sideline Asian male characters and reduce them to side kicks or villains. I wanted to point out how they kept a kunoichi to draw attention to the fact above.

The Yasuke thing is weird. People were mad, in japan many many people were annoyed and pissed off at how inaccurate simple cultural things were like the banner on yasuke's back, or the banner on his chest representing the wrong warlord. No one really cared that yasuke is the main character, what they do care about is him being called samurai and historical documents show hardly anything about him. Even nobunaga himself in his journal doesn't say he's a samurai, he almost treated yasuke like a commodity. What we do know is that yasuke has so much romanticized fictional writing that westerners have looked into it and think it's historical text. It's bizarre how people like to look at another culture and either defend it or make up shit about it. Even though they have nothing to do with the culture itself

Joe is right, Asian is east asian to south asian to middle easter to pacific islander, etc etc. It's a wide range. In UK and Africa and lots of places, you say asian, they picture brown Asians. In America, they'll picture east Asians. But nobody thinks of Russians as Asian. They're descendants of Europeans. All Euro's are descendants of the tribe of Dan, so basically Danish people, ie. Vikings. Not to be confused with the Jewish tribe of Dan. Defining people by ethnicity of continents or whatever is stupid anyways.

My point was simply that it's silly to define people by race, religion, continent, ethnicity, nationality, culture, etc. For example, i'm born canadian, parents for generations from east africa, ethnically south asian, (Indian), and a splash of iranian and afghani blood in me, and i'm muslim. I'll claim those things, as will my parents. Who is anyone to say we're not?

Lol Japan is not fond of what AC has done. My problem with that Yasuke thing is 1. We've been waiting for an AC game set in Japan since the whole thing started and instead of getting a Japanese protagonist we get a political statement. 2. The creators never shut up about "Historical this" and "Historical that" when it's all bullsh*t. 3. Yasuke wasn''t a freakin' samurai. Girard and Lockley's book is heavily romanticized and fictionalized for the same reason this game is using him as one of the leads. To pander to the historically ignorant.

I think Burmese, Thailand, Cambodia is more influenced with Jungle Asians. Burmese is somewhat between since they are influenced with every Asians. At the top is China, North is Thailand,Laos and West is India. And there are more than 100 ethnic groups. So a lot mixed up even in a country.
