Scorp rising here, 29 degrees, at five yrs old I thought to myself "there's something wrong here (on planet earth) and I'm going to find out what it is!" ...and I've been researching and unearthing what's going on here, ever since. I've been surrounded by scorpionic people my whole life too, which I find interesting. I have a stellium in sag in my 1st and 2nd houses, depending on whether whole sign or not, is used. I am super saggy, my stellium trumps everthing in theory and practice; obsessed with deep and meaningful, what's moral, what's uplifting and freeing.

I’ve followed your podcasts for over a year and have a pretty sound knowledge of astrology. I’ve followed because Amanda brings a real sense of integrity and the exchanges always seemed authentic. The basic to and fro of Zoom and video conferencing really underpinned this authenticity. So want the heck? Why are you now inserting clips, especially panning. I get the instructional show n tell (I’m an academic and a lecturer) but there is no need to Overdo all the bells and whistles. A clip of the moon is just not necessary and looks amateur. I say this in the spirit of wanting astrology hub to succeed. We are subject to so much marketing and campaigns. Keep it true :) and yes Samuel is always great and erudite. Thanks for having him.

I, too, started out as a skeptic. I grew up religious and, though I discarded much about it in my teens, I was fairly closed minded about things like astrology. I was also hostile. Several of my friends who studied astrology often dismissed behavior as a quality of a particular sign. Growing up in abusive environments, I found this to be deplorable. It had the same ring as "the devil made me do it." Without realizing, I began to pay attention to the same patterns they were picking up in people. Soon afterwards, I took some classes and read a lot of books. It became my new religion/therapy.

I love him !! I came in to astrology open minded switched to psychology to see if it was some kinda mind trick or placebo. Went back and forth but stayed open minded to lots of things but then my Saturn return whipped my ass and I figured it out. Love this week-by-by through the houses. I have Capricorn on the ASC, no planets in the First, with the ASC Ruler Saturn in opposition sitting at the last degrees of Cancer in the 7th House with an "out-of-sign" conjunction to my Leo Moon. Also learning about aspects and planetary dignities in the IC, I can say that there must be some irreconcilability, with my ASC Ruler in detriment, in exile from one's persona, from one's unfolding to fulfill the Sun's purpose...it's like Saturn needs to be a patron of the "mother wound" somehow and present that in a mature, strong, responsible way...make manifest healing the hurt restrictions and tension...I hate crying but tears flow at their own free will...like from deep in my Soul, they come on their own. I call them the "tears of my Christ Consciousness", they are emphatic, they belong to the hurt that I've witnessed in some way, they are not my own tears.

As a complementary therapist it was an interesting turning point in my career as I was then able to market the natural remedies I had used on myself. Did the same. Adjusted the degree of my ascendant in an intuitive way. When Uranus landed on my AC I had break up of a rocky romantic relationship (natal Uranus in 5th). Mars came to my DC at thesame time and I ended up in hospital waking up g From the anaesthetic after they had done keyhole surgery with electrical instruments.

This is helping me so much to bring understanding to myself. I'm a Libra Rising and moon with Neptune all in the first house. But I have 6 planets in earth signs with Capricorn sun and I highly resonate with the female energy but understand the masculine through my rising sign and moon. Love this!

Yeah same here. I left a comment on the 2nd house video too. I was expecting a quick intro, then an overview with each planet or sign, and then a conclusion. Perhaps this video was titled wrong. This seemed more of an informal, free flowing conversation. I agree this channel needs to have more structure to their videos, and then follow it so we can get answers to what we're seeking. I spent 2 hours watching two videos and barely learned anything.😅

Funny this is why I too got into astrology to figure out my correct ascendant as my birth-time put me between 2 signs that have the same ruler but result in different ascendants depending on which system calculation I was using Lahiri vs Dhwal khul vs Raman vs UshaShashi etc. I was too self-sufficient and non-trusting of someone else who doesn’t really know me, to book a reading with a “professional” so instead I decided to study all of it and figure it out myself lol 😂 Incidentally, it was Rick Levine (whose apprentice I am now) is the one who taught me the value of *not* using the whole sign system so I’ll never use “whole sign”….because the lagna rashi (rising sign) means the “lagna” or marriage of heaven and earth and as such it relies on the tilt of the Earth and “real high noon” to determine the mid heaven point.

This is great! I’ve always struggled with whether I’m Libra rising 29 degrees or Scorpio rising. My first house is Scorpio with Jupiter and Neptune and north node there. So if I look at Libras ruling planet Venus it’s in my 4th house of Aquarius which is my sun sign. Scorpios ruling planet Pluto is in my 10th house of Leo where I also have Uranus and my mid heaven. So my 4th house opposes my 10th house. I’ve always put my family first in front of career. But I’m still not sure which rising sign fits more. 🤔

Again, I am confused. Pluto is typically associated with death and loss, not just transformation. I know that contact between Saturn and Pluto can indicate loss. Both planets manifest as heavy energies in our lives, but their experiences and areas of "expertise" are quite different. I have both planets playing strong roles in my chart. When I pay attention, I can tell which one is in charge.

I am Cap. sun and Asc. , with Saturn in Aqu. intercepted and Uranus in 7th Leo, intercepted. I have Always been extremely independent, rebellious, and a somewhat odd duck. I identify with Aquarius, first but also Capricorn; and I have a loaded 1st house inc. S, node. Is it because my ASC ruler is in Aquarius that gives reason for identifying with it so strongly?

The sign your ascendant ruler falls in definitely has a big impact on your personality, so that checks. Plus Capricorn and Aquarius have a lot in common. Some things you're identifying with Aquarius also work with Capricorn. Traditionally, they were both ruled by Saturn (this is still true even if you accept Uranus as a co-ruler or modern ruler for Aquarius). Independence, rebelliousness, and being kinda 'weird' are all things atrtributable to Saturn. Capricorn is the cardinal/feminine/earth manifestation of Saturn, and Aquarius is the fixed/masculine/air manifestation of Saturn. One is more introverted and practical, the other is more extroverted and idealistic.

This is one of the questions astrologers still debate to this day. You might want to check the work of some medieval astrologers to see how they integrated both systems together!

Use whole sign. With Aries 22 Degrees, 0Aries is house 1. 0 Tau is house 2. So that 22 Degrees Aries point can be seen as a sensitive point IN the 1st house. Simplify it as much as possible before going into the nuances of it.

So, I'm a bit confused by some planetary rulers thrown out. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, for example, yet he stated that Uranus was the ruling planet of Pisces. Getting hit in the face was his confirmation that he had the right Ascendant. Is he using some alternate form of astrology?

Pisces Is ruled by Jupiter, traditionally. He was not talking about rulership but of a transit. Planets move in the sky during our lives so they change signs and therefore they pass through our natal houses. Uranus was in Pisces when the episode happened. He said Uranus was near the degree he thought his rising sign was (but wasn't 100% sure). That day he got hit in the face and confirmed that was his rising sign. Beacause Uranus represents something unexpected (the dodgeball coming) whereas the first house represent the body, person (his face was hit)

Hi Linda! You can have Capricorn inside your 1st house, but what really matters is the cusp. You can think of the cusp as the door to that house, so whoever has the keys to that door (Jupiter) would be the ruler of your 1st house.

You are Aries from birth. But you are "rising"into Sco.Throughout your life, you will experience situations that will require you to develop or come into "awareness"of your Scorpio nature(Rising). So say your whole life you are brave,take initiative and go into things with ghusto(Sun in Aries). But life presents to you situations where you face betrayal, backstabbing and people concealing their intentions from you etc. So then you realize that you have to develop more "investigative" qualities in your outlook (Sco), tread more carefully (Sco), not be willingly open and so trusting (Sco) etc. As you get older,the Sco rising part "rises". So you are just not a naive Aries Sun anymore. You have developed or consciously initiated the "laser beam" eyes of Sco☝🏿

So my first house which is Scorpio I have Neptune conjunct I am a Libra late degrees ascendant and a libra moon in the 12th house nine N. notice the sixth What really gets me though is people like my son who is a Virgo rising but he’s not a Pisces North node he’s actually a Leo North node and I don’t know how that happens I’ve actually met quite a few people who have that type of scenario I’ve asked several astrologers on KZbin with no reply what that means or how that happens cause I understood it predominantly it is the axis of the ascendant or on the horizon so if you were to draw a horizon or rainbow you would match up with the sign that is completely opposite of it It just bewilders me But I’m also a true cancer because I’m only 8° in on my son which is the 10th house of Capricorn I have mercury and Venus conjunct and so from what I have heard other astrologer say hopefully I’m not incorrect in repeating this, Anything under 10° is generally speaking more like to sign prior to which is what I thought he was getting at when he started talking about cusping I’m getting this information that’s just kind of downloading and that I find pretty interesting as the eighth house is designated to Scorpio obviously there’s Mars and Pluto in my first in my eighth and I also have Pluto in my 11th house and I will tell you I have had a very challenging life But I’m making an association to the number eight and the reason for that is because I’m actually a life past eight so I’m wondering if anyone knows whether or not this is common That’s funny I have Jupiter in Virgo also and Virgos my 11th house I have Uranus and I also have Pluto which I’ve mentioned up above

I got confused with the explanation of rising, ascendant, and first house. It would be best to actually explain the entire thing via an actual birth date. So I stopped watching.
