China has fooled many countries with these kinds of offers of help and put them in depth when they cannot panther take their lands port railways etc The Chinese objective is to have a military port in the Solomon Island Be aware people of Solomon.island the Chinese will steal your fish take over your shops and businesses and contribute nothing to your local economy ,look at what they did to Sri Lanka, Pakistan and what they are doing to many African an countries

That's not a good statement .Solomon island has been relying on other countries.the switch is a bilateral relationship which the govt seen it as appropriate given that they had oversee the security of it's people.its good we have Australia but that's not enough.we fully understands the agendas of each country behind thier relationship with other countries so let alone our govt to decide for it sovereignty.

Good to see you showing your voice to the wider communities Mr Kenilorea. I share your concerns about the relationship and undertakings between PM Sogavare and the CCP regime of the PRC. The CCP are manipulative and ruthless unethical pragmatists and I do sincerely worry as to what this will mean for the people of the Solomons. > As an Australian I also have concerns as to what negative impact PRC fishing fleets could have on the Corral Sea and northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef. The PRC does not have a good reputation in regards to respecting sustainable fishing practices as well as 30 years of recorded mass damage to corral reef systems. They are also showing intentions toward Daru Island in this regard as well. > May your way forward be peaceful and in the best interest of the peoples. Respect and gods blessing to you sir.

Mr. Kenilorea. is the opposition leader so its not surprising he opposes the government's actions? What should be asked of him is what pressure or promises the US are making. Does he know how badly treated the people of the Marshal Islands have been treated by the US during their 70+years of occupation. Islanders barred from some of their own islands, whole islands destroyed by 67 nuclear tests, on going missile testing, the people lied to about the radiation and a nuclear waste dump (The Dome) located on one of their islands. Does he really want that for his people instead of Chinese development?

Having an island as port for Chinese Naval Fleet close to Philippine Sea n Guam is an advantage for China in mid of armed conflict in South China Sea. It is of strategy interests for PLA and China in their southern push plan.🧐

PJK is well understand china than any solomon Islands politician. He works for UN overseeing 57 small Caribbean and Pacific islands counties which well understand these supper power at the top level. Have you heard of the IMF and World Bank? Far more harm done with their loans. The Chinese offer low rates without strings attached. They want mutual trade benefits. Building roads, rail and ports. Sure they want return on their investments . Those returns are increased trade both ways. What has the US done in Africa? Built 36 known military bases to use in their wars of aggression.
