What does the Hudson River mean to you and your community?

What is your relationship with the Hudson? The Next Gen interns interviewed adult and youth community members from Piermont, Spring Valley, and Haverstraw, NY to ask about both their own and their communities' connection to the Hudson River. While responses vary, overall, they showed the strength of the Hudson as a consistent presence and connection for the people in the local community.

The Lamont-Doherty Next Gen: Voice of Unity interns are a group of high school students from diverse backgrounds who study the Hudson River Estuary, learning, teaching, and sharing about this unique and dynamic water system. Through the Voice of Unity program funded by the NYSDEC, the students worked throughout Rockland County, NY connecting with different communities and speaking with the residents to learn about their connections to the Hudson River. This series of short films is a result of this work.
