Hi Matt. Big fan here. I've never commented before, because I always used to listen to the show on my Echo. I never miss an episode. I commend you for all the hard work you put into it, in addition to having a full-time job. I was wondering, though, if the show is no longer going to be available through my Echo. Hulle! Matt! Some of us dont want Hooker to start now today. I want to win a Superbowl with Goff. Love the guy. We could of let him play out his last year of his contract. Then maybe franchise tag him a year. But 4 years $212. Theres other players We will not be able to sign because of it. Real good players. I beleive its avoidable. I'm not sure what Sam Monson means other than he cannot wrap his head around the fact that Jared Goff is an elite level NFL QB playing for the Lions and proving his worth when it matters. A little nuance on the period of time where Sam suggests the wheels fell off. The Chicago Bears games in Detroit where La Porta was blocked off his route and Goff threw the INT and two other INTs were on tipped balls at the line. This was the game Goff led the Lions to two TDs in the last 4 minutes of the game to to beat the Bears 31-26.The Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving with a fumble lost for TD on a play that could have been called just-as-easily an incomplete pass, a lost fumble on a scramble and a 4th down sack fumble. The Packers won by TD 29-22. The Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field with two 4th down picks and a lost fumbled snap. Bears sacked Goff 4 times beating the Lions 28-13. The 1st half of the season the Lions went 6-2, and after the by went 6-3 with one loss being the Brad Allen blown tackle eligible call which should have bee a victory. The "wheels did not fall off, it's sports. Joe Burrow and Goff both have gone to Super Bowls and lost, won and lost Conference championship games. Goff has stayed healthy in his career missing very few games while Burrow has missed big chunks of time due to injury in two of his four years in the NFL. Goff's been the best Red Zone QB in the NFL for two years running. The difference in the playoff game between the Lions and Rams in January was Goff delivered TDs in the Red Zone while Stafford got the Rams field goals. I thought it was too much at first but if the salary cap goes up by 10% each year Goff will be making about 16% of the total cap over the course of the deal. Thats not too bad... Honestly Its 2024's equivalent of 41 million.

Taylor Decker gave up 8 sacks last year and has slid talent wise unable practice or protect Goff's blind side. Sewell only gave up 1 sack. Can't wait till Manu takes over this year at RT. Bookend Islanders.

It’s a myth that Goff can’t play without “everything perfect” around him. He’s produced more with less support than almost any other QB in the league. At the end of the 2022 season, PFF ranked the Lions’ OL at #21 for Pass blocking, and #9 for run blocking (the OL was injury riddled in 2022) and after Hockinson was traded at mid-season, the only noteworthy pass catcher Goff had to throw to was Amon Ra. With very little talent around him Goff led the top 3 offense in the league.
