It is the power play that had led to Bharats non invitation. Though China goes against USA it cannot be ignored as it has maintained its stance strongly. With Trump it's going to be less nuanced and more direct communication. It's also going to be more "binary" - i.e. in areas he's keen on (like trade, immigration) India will have give more than get for sure; in other areas (human rights, Pakistan etc) he's probably going to be much less of an interventionist than a Democratic administration and that may even selectively enhance India's strategic autonomy. Hard to predict.
