dang bro, that "spirit" theory is actually really good, what if the spirit was a random kid that got abandoned by his/her dads at the hotel,in a rainy night and the kid just wanted shelter and got in, but got killed by a wandering monster, and his/her living innocent soul just doesnt want anyone to go tru the same traumatizing torment of getting eaten by any monster, trying to save every human being that goes into the hotel searching for her lost self. Like what if every player is just another cop/officer trying to investigate what happened to that "lost" child?

Origins : The hotel was made by the two brothers, Wesley Chalice, And Jack Chalice, who were both born in the year 1900, In the year 1950, They were destined to become successors of their father, Hervet Chalice. Hervert Chalice built a hotel, Calling it The Chalice Hotel, and most of the income the family made was from the hotel itself, but Unluckily, Their Mother died, Her name was, Isabelle Chalice. she died because of an unknown reason, The date of her death was on Sept. 9, 1950, Oddly enough, There were several cases of missing or deceased people that disappeared on the specific date of Sept. 9 after the year of 1947, The Chalice's Case Was one of three cases of the odd occurance. Moving back to the two brothers, The two brothers, Wesley and Jack, Built a hotel in the memory of their mother, Naming it the same name of the hotel that their father built,. And they started building the hotel, it was the same year their mother passed away, August 4, 1951, They opened their second location, Everything was going smoothly, The customers were happy, And the Hotel Got Popular, Many people were coming to the hotel, it was a Success! But as we all know, all things arent perfect, On September 8th, 1951, Breifley a month after the opening of The 2nd Chalice Hotel, Jack was sleeping quietly in his room in the hotel (The brothers lived there), He suddenly woke up to a pitch black void, and some sort of corrupt being saying to him : "Let me take over, or meet a demise worse than DEATH ITSELF. :)" Jack was Terrified, for what he has seen, First he declines, And then the being says "Last chance my little friend, Let. Me. Take. Over. Or. Meet. A. Demise. Worse. Than. DEATH!" Jack Screaming in pain, The being says "Its no use screaming in here, you're in MY world :)" Jack Agrees to the being, And on the next day, Jack Murders his own brother, Which later on becomes the Guidance to the now known, Hotel of Suffering, Jack, On the other hand, lost consciousness, he was dead on the inside, but the BEING still lives with his body.
