Why are some people removing the plastic fender trims to apply the wrap?

It’s all preference of the shop/installer performing the work as far as disassembly. And typically disassembly is involved when an installer feels it would obstruct their installation process

@@EddyPham it will behave pretty much like your paintwork would! But I strongly recommend with any wrapped vehicle to wash in a cool/shaded environment. Never care for it in direct sunlight or you risk staining/damage from any chemicals you may use. If you have harsh winters like us in Iowa I’d avoid any care below freezing temps as the film becomes too brittle for any maintenance and is much more prone to being damaged during winter.
